Join host Ruari in this guest interview with actor/producer Taylor Murphy, best known for playing a Battle Droid Commander in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, a Hitman in Spectre, Sergeant Blaine in Saving Private Ryan, a German Officer in Fury, Zombie #1 in World War Z, Mummy #1 in The Mummy, DI Franklin in Bullet Hole, a Journalist in Notting Hill, Masked Party Principal in Eyes Wide Shut, a SAS Soldier in 6 Days and Det Inspector Tomlinson in Casualty 1906 and Casualty 1907. Taylor’s behind the scenes credits include Associate Producer on Broken Glass and he was credited as a Stunt Player on Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. In the interview they talk about how Taylor got into acting and producing, how Taylor was originally hired to be a stunt performer and cast as a Battle Droid Commander in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, whether Taylor was a fan of Star Wars prior to his casting, what Taylor was told about his part of a Battle Droid Commander when he was about to shoot his scenes, what the process was like in bringing the Battle Droid Commander to life, the direction Taylor was given for playing the Battle Droid Commander from the Star Wars crew, whether Taylor had any idea when playing the Battle Droid Commander that the Battle Droids would become such a memorable and iconic part of Star Wars for at that time a new generation of fans, how it feels for Taylor knowing that 2019 marked the 20th anniversary of The Phantom Menace and that the Prequel films are still being talked about, what Taylor enjoyed the most about working on The Phantom Menace, what being a part of Star Wars means to Taylor, Taylor’s favourite memories from his time working on The Phantom Menace, the biggest challenges that Taylor faced while working on The Phantom Menace, Taylor’s experiences working on many other memorable films like Spectre, Saving Private Ryan, Fury, World War Z and The Mummy among others, Taylor’s favourite films and TV shows that he worked on, the role that Taylor has found the most challenging in his career so far and Taylor’s upcoming acting roles, producing works and other projects.
