Director Rian Johnson has announced that Star Wars Episode VIII has officially wrapped up filming.
Johnson said:
“Thanks to the best cast and crew in the galaxy, and thanks to the fans for all the love and support though the whole process. Cannot wait to put it together and share it with you all!”
Johnson himself shared a video on Facebook of the final slate from the final shot:
Johnson’s recent tweets hinted that newcomer Kelly Marie Tran was still filming during the week.

One of the biggest announcements from Star Wars Celebration Europe recently was the news that Grand Admiral Thrawn would be featuring in the Star Wars: Rebels animated series. However, the news (revealed at the Rebels panel) was also accompanied by the reveal that a new Thrawn novel will hit shelves next year.
The book, titled Star Wars: Thrawn (the first canon novel to feature Thrawn), will be written by Thrawn trilogy author Timothy Zahn. In a video message broadcast to attendees at the Rebels panel, Zahn said:
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Dave Filoni and the rest of the Rebels crew for the incredible honor they have afforded me. I’m afraid I can’t reveal anything more than what you’ve already seen and heard. But I am very pleased with the direction they’re taking Grand Admiral Thrawn.”
The book is also Zahn’s first canon Star Wars novel.
Star Wars: Thrawn is scheduled for release in April 2017.

In addition to the release of a new trailer for the third season of Star Wars: Rebels, Lucasfilm and Disney released a poster and a new preview clip to further promote the third season.

The clip features Darth Maul, Ezra Bridger and Kanan Jarrus. It shows that Maul is holding Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren and Zeb Orrelios hostage.
The third season of Star Wars: Rebels will begin airing later this year.

A new trailer for the third season of the Star Wars: Rebels animated series has been released.

The trailer debuted at Star Wars Celebration Europe during the panel for the show. The panellists included Executive Producer Dave Filoni, Tiya Sircar (Sabine Wren) and Sam Witwer (Darth Maul).
The trailer confirmed the rumours that Legends character Grand Admiral Thrawn would be featuring in the third season. Thrawn originally appeared in his own trilogy of books (also known as the “Heir to the Empire” trilogy).
The third season of Star Wars: Rebels will begin airing later this year.

The official poster for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was revealed at Star Wars Celebration Europe recently. It was revealed by director Gareth Edwards at the panel for the film.
The poster can be viewed at the top of this article. It was subsequently handed out to attendees of the panel after the panel concluded.
The poster showcases Rebels and Imperials battling on the beaches of the planet Scarif. The shadow of the Death Star is also shown on the poster.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled for release on December 16th, 2016.
