Having recently hit its 200th episode milestone and nearing the end of its ninth season, the minds of The Big Bang Theory fans are beginning to turn towards its tenth season- which is said to be the final season of the show. However, cast members have said they’re willing to continue beyond the tenth season should CBS decide to continue the show.
Kaley Cuoco (Penny) is quoted as saying the following when asked if next season will be her last:
“No. I think it’s a given that we want to be here. That’s the overall consensus. It might be a sticky road, but if I have anything to do with it, we’d be here for much longer. That’s the goal.”
Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper) had the following to add:
“If the opportunity to go past Season 10 came up, I’d be very hard-pressed to tell you who [among the cast] might say no — if anybody would. I wouldn’t. I’m trying to imagine when an actor in a good situation would go, ‘I’m out of here. I don’t think it would be between Seasons 10 and 11 — not if things are going well.”
The Big Bang Theory has hit its peak with viewer ratings, and with the cast and audience still so invested in the show, it would only make sense for the show to continue for more seasons. We’ll have to wait and see what the showrunners and CBS decide to do.
Thoughts on this report? Would you like to see The Big Bang Theory continue beyond its confirmed ten seasons?
