A new report from The Hollywood Report (which included interviews with producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald) has indicated that a new Men in Black trilogy is in development.

The following exchange took place in the interview:

THR: You produced Men in Black. Has there been talk of reviving that franchise with the new Sony regime?

Parkes: We’re in the middle of it. It’s very active.

THR: Is Will Smith going to be part of it?

Parkes: Most likely no.

MacDonald: It will be reinvented as a trilogy.

As stated, Will Smith (James Edwards) likely won’t be involved so the new trilogy will likely be very different to the trilogy we’ve already seen.

Rumours have indicated for a while that a Men in Black/Jump Street crossover is being considered, so it’s possible that the Men in Black series will be reinvented in an even bigger way than Parkes and MacDonald stated.

Thoughts on this report? Are you looking forward to another Men in Black trilogy?
