X-Men producer Simon Kinberg is a busy man working on both the X-Men and Star Wars films, but he’ll be even busier soon with the solo films in the former’s universe, Deadpool and Gambit.
While Deadpool is only a few months away from being released, production on Gambit has been stop-start, but Kinberg has talked about the film recently. He is quoted as saying the following on the feel of the film:
“Gambit will have its own different flavor and tone to it. [it] will be more of like a heist movie and a sexy thriller in a way.”
However, Kinberg has hinted that the film’s release date will be pushed back. While originally scheduled for release on October 7th, 2016, shooting is only going to begin in Spring 2016 and the crew expects to need 5-6 months to finish production, indicating the film will likely be pushed back until sometime in 2017.
