The CW has officially renewed all ten of its currently on-going shows. This includes all four properties from DC Comics. Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow have been renewed for a fifth, third and second season respectively, and DC Comics/Vertigo’s iZombie got a third season renewed as well.
Other on-going shows that got renewals include The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Supernatural, Jane the Virgin, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and 100. The spring/summer series Reign has also been renewed for another season.
All eleven shows were given an early renewal by CW president Mark Pedowitz for the 2016-2017 season.
Pedowitz said the following in a press release:
“The CW has become home to some of the most critically-acclaimed shows on broadcast television, with a wide array of fantastic scripted series across the week, ranging from musical comedy, to superhero action, to gritty sci-fi dramas. As we continue to further our strategy of more year-round original programming, picking up these 11 series for the 2016-2017 season puts us in a great position of having proven, high-quality shows to launch in the fall as well as midseason and summer of 2017.”
Thoughts on this news? Are you excited to see more seasons from all of these shows?
