Following the reveal of the official logo for the spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling (who is the screen-writing the spin-off) has confirmed that the muggles will be called a different name in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Muggles will be called “No-Maj”, which will be the American-English equivalent of the word “muggle”. Next Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) will encounter many Wizards using this name in New York when he travels there in 1926.
“No-Maj” is pronounced as “no madge”.
