“Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman. We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”
Fun fact: Hoechlin was rumoured at one stage to be in the running to play Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The second season of Supergirl will air Monday nights on The CW.

Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of Supergirl Season 2. The Man of Steel himself will be coming to National City in the first two episodes that air on Supergirl’s new home on The CW.
Warner Bros. TV announced that they are in the casting process for the role. This means that big-screen actor Henry Cavill won’t be playing the role in keeping with DC’s separation between the TV shows and the films.
Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg said:
“Greg, Ali and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl. Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”
Superman has previously appeared on Supergirl. However, those appearances were purely CGI and always had his face obscured. It was previously speculated by fans that he wouldn’t be making an official appearance on the show until now.
The second season of Supergirl will air Monday nights on The CW.

While most of the excitement from fans of The CW’s The Flash series is to see the effect Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen has had on the timeline after saving his mother Nora Allen, there may be other mother related story-lines coming on the third season of The Flash. The mother of Caitlin Snow (played by Danielle Panabaker) may be appearing in the third season of the show.
Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg recently stated that fans should be excited about Caitlin Snow’s upcoming story-lines. He talked about how Panabaker doubled up as both Caitlin and Killer Frost last season which led to his tease about Caitlin’s mom making an appearance.
Kreisberg said:
“We haven’t met Caitlin’s mother yet. We got a little talk between the two women, which will probably play out in Season 3.”
In the second season we saw a scene where Caitlin and Killer Frost had a conversation about their respective parenting issues. Little is known about Caitlin’s family but Killer Frost did let slip that she had a brother on Earth-2. This means that Caitlin could discover that she has a brother too.
Kreisberg then went on to applaud Panabaker’s work on the Killer Frost scenes, with actor Tom Cavanagh (Harry Wells) adding:
“She put in a 17-hour day in two cells. The table read was great because there were these volleys back and forth, where the voice would change. It was Danielle talking to Danielle, but it was tremendous to watch. And then, you put her in that outfit. There’s always a lot of stuff going on, but she was phenomenal with it. She was loving every minute. It was really, really impressive to watch.”
The third season of The Flash will begin airing later this year.

Clare Foley (Sinister, Southpaw) will no longer be playing the younger version of Poison Ivy when the third season of Gotham rolls around. A new report indicates that the Gotham crew are looking to re-cast an older actress in the role of Ivy Pepper.
The source states:
“Casting is underway for an actress in her late teens to assume the now-series regular role of the would-be eco-terrorist.”
As the source indicates, it sounds like Ivy will be playing a much bigger role in the third season. Foley’s Pepper was a recurring character by contrast.
Foley also played a young Piper in Orange Is the New Black.
The third season of Gotham will begin airing later this year.
