Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man) has officially joined the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming. This news follows the rumour that Iron Man would be appearing in the film.
The report confirms that Downey Jr. and Marvel Studios were able to finalise talks for him to appear in the film. Marvel had to negotiate a hefty deal to make it happen as the actor wasn’t under contract for the movie.
Downey Jr.’s casting shows that Marvel and Sony Pictures are very keen on keeping their universes linked in their joint partnership.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is scheduled for release on July 7th, 2017.
