Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that Thanos will not be appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, despite featuring in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
Feige is quoted as saying the following:
“I wouldn’t look too hard in [Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2] for Thanos. We were going to, seeing as Thanos made his first non-post-credits scene appearance in the first Guardians. The next time we see Thanos he will not be messing around. It will be, ‘Oh, that’s why they’ve been teasing this villain for five years.’”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is scheduled to open on May 5th, 2017.
