Nintendo have announced that the classic Pokémon games Red, Blue and Yellow will be made available on Nintendo 3DS eShop as digital downloads.
All three games will be exactly like they were on the Game boy, but you’ll be able to trade Pokémon through Bluetooth instead of needing a Game boy Link Cable.
All three will be available on February 27th, 2016. This date will mark the 20th anniversary of Red and Blue’s original release in Japan in 1996.
The latest episode of The Big Bang Theory sees the official introduction of Amy’s new boyfriend Dave, as well as sees Sheldon trying to find an intelligent woman.
Following the reveal in the previous episode that Amy has a new boyfriend (and they kiss), this episode sees the official introduction of her new boyfriend- Dave. I have to admit that while I was intrigued for Dave’s introduction, I was hoping he wouldn’t be a terrible character. I needn’t have worried because Dave added a lot to the episode and all of his scenes were hysterical, especially when professing his admiration for Sheldon (whom Amy didn’t want to talk about). Dave’s scene with Leonard was also really funny as well. I hope we get to see Dave featured in more episodes of The Big Bang Theory as the character is really entertaining. He’s the type of character the show needs right now when it’s not as entertaining as it was in the earlier seasons, and Stephen Merchant provides a lot of humour in the role. Seeing Penny, Bernadette and Leonard spying on his and Amy’s date was amusing.
Meanwhile, we see Sheldon, Howard and Raj looking to find Sheldon a new girlfriend. As Howard and Raj were the guys who found Amy for him in the first place, Sheldon decides they can help him with finding another girlfriend (a nice throwback to the first episode Amy appears in). Sheldon sets a challenge looking for a woman who is educated, intelligent and shares his interests but retains her own point of view, by completing a series of puzzles.
Fun fact: The woman who shows up at Sheldon’s door (Vanessa Bennett) is played by Analeigh Tipton, who previously played one of the models in the Season 2 episode “The Panty Piñata Polarization”.
The episode ends with Amy telling Dave that she doesn’t think things are working out with him, as he mentioned Sheldon a lot during their date. Might not be too long until Sheldon and Amy get back together…
In my opinion, this was another excellent episode of The Big Bang Theory. The official introduction of Dave added a lot to the episode and Sheldon enlisting Howard and Raj to help him find a woman was a nice throwback to Amy’s first episode. Now that Amy has seemingly ended things with Dave it will be interesting to see what happens next in Amy’s love life.

The latest episode of Star Wars: Rebels gives viewers their first taste of Hera Syndulla’s back-story, the chronological debut of the B-Wing and the voice of another Star Wars: The Clone Wars cast member.
While Rebels has provided great back-stories to a number of its main characters (Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger and Zeb Orrelios), I’ve felt that there has been a lack of character development for the two main female characters (Hera Syndulla and Sabine Wren). We learn a little about Sabine in the first season, notably that she was a member of the Imperial academy on Mandalore), but we learnt next to nothing about Hera in the first season. This episode completely changes that and gives us an excellent insight into Hera’s past.
We see Phoenix Squadron in dire need of a new ship to get past an Imperial blockade to provide aid to the people of Ibaar. Hera steps forward and travels with Sabine and Zeb in search of a new ship, based on intel from Captain Rex.
We’re introduced to Quarrie (named after the legendary Ralph McQuarrie), an eccentric Mon Calamari engineer that is voiced by Corey Burton, the voice of Count Dooku, Cad Bane and other characters in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. As a long-time fan of The Clone Wars it was great to hear Burton voice a character in Rebels. It’s revealed that Quarrie has been working on a prototype ship- the B-Wing (or “Blade Wing” as he refers to it), however he won’t let just anyone pilot the ship.
We then get our first insight into Hera’s back-story as she reveals that was a child at the time of the Battle of Ryloth (a battle seen in The Clone Wars) and she loved watching the Republic ships flying overheard to liberate her world, wanting nothing more than to fly herself one day. We also learn that Hera decided to leave her family so she could fly, which is interesting and sure to be a complex subject when her father Cham Syndulla shows up later on in Rebels. Upon learning her history, Quarrie allows Hera to fly the B-Wing.
After practicing with the B-Wing, Hera and the others arrive back with the rebel blockade, destroying one of Agent Kallus’s ships and they are able to get the supplies to the people of Ibaar.
However, there is still one more twist in the episode. Commander Sato decides to make Hera the new Phoenix Leader of Phoenix Squadron (the previous Phoenix Leader having died early on in this episode), under Kanan’s recommendation. We also learn that Quarrie is now joining the Rebel Alliance (though it’s unknown if we’ll see him again). A heart-warming end to an excellent episode.
In my opinion, this was another excellent episode of Star Wars: Rebels. It was great to finally get to see some of Hera’s back-story explored, Quarrie is another interesting character added to the show and we see the debut of the B-Wing in Star Wars: Rebels. All of this and much more makes for another excellent episode.

The latest episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D finds S.H.I.E.L.D find out the truth about Lash and a double-twist at the end of the episode.
In the previous episode we learned that Andrew Garner is Lash, a reveal that shocked everyone except me as I had predicted it on our podcast (I’m going to keep bringing that up). Given that Garner’s ex-wife Melinda May learned the truth as well it was only a matter of time before the truth was discovered by the rest of S.H.I.E.L.D.
A number of the shows fans were anxious to see the revelation to how Andrew became Lash (especially those against the decision of the writers making him Lash), and I myself was intrigued and hoping that it wouldn’t be a poorly explained reason. The reveal that Jiaying had left Terrigen Mist crystals in a book of all of the Inhumans as a trap was a clever reveal as it would have killed non-Inhumans, but instead it turned Andrew into Lash. A very clever move by the writers in my opinion.
The episode focuses on S.H.I.E.L.D and the ATCU trying to get Andrew/Lash to come with them, but when Lincoln attacks Lash and all hell breaks loose they are forced to capture him. In some ways it’s an ironic twist that we may be seeing in upcoming episodes- previously Andrew was helping Inhumans and now he’s the one who needs the help adjusting to his new life.
Meanwhile, Fitz continues to search for a way to get Simmons back to the other planet that Will is on. While he doesn’t make a large amount of progress he does make some. The scene with Fitz and Simmons watching the sunset was a nice touch.
The episode ends with two twists, one surprising and the other not so much. The not-surprising twist is the reveal that Phil Coulson and Rosalind Price are now in a romantic relationship. Given their interesting dynamic since the start of the season, I’ve always believed that the writers intended to have the two characters get together and we see that happen in this episode. However, in a surprising twist, Price calls Gideon Malick (who as we know is with S.H.I.E.L.D arch enemy Grant Ward) which hints towards the next episode being a really big episode.
In my opinion, this was another excellent episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It was very interesting to watch the rest of S.H.I.E.L.D find out about Andrew Garner being Lash and it’ll be interesting to see what they do with him now that he’s captured. The reveals that Coulson and Price are now in a relationship and Price contacting Malick sets up for a very interesting episode next time around.

The latest episode of The Walking Dead reveals what fans have been predicting since the start of the season, reveals several important parts of the comics that are being integrated into the show and reveals that Deanna likes hitting Walkers anywhere but the brain.
While some fans have called this episode a filler episode, I couldn’t disagree more and I think this episode is very important to the season. While it does set up for upcoming events, it still stands out as an episode on its own. I’ll talk about the comic elements that are being integrated first…
This episode marked Lauren Cohan’s 50th episode as Maggie Greene in The Walking Dead, which makes you wonder if they were saving the reveal for this episode for that reason. Since the start of the season we’ve seen that Maggie isn’t going out on runs and Glenn is looking to keep her at Alexandria, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that Maggie is pregnant. As Maggie is my favourite character I’m interested to see if they make any changes to the comic story-line with her baby, but only time will tell. Ever since the Season 4 premier (“30 Days Without an Accident”) there has been foreshadowing that Maggie would become pregnant so it makes you wonder if she was pregnant in previous seasons and we didn’t know. Food for thought.
The second integration is Rick Grimes starting to take over leadership responsibilities at Alexandria. We see that Deanna is still in a daze following the attack by The Wolves and with Walkers at the gates (how on earth did Rick run past the whole herd?) she decides that the Safe-Zone needs Rick more than anyone, foreshadowing that he will soon be the leader of Alexandria.
The third and final integration is the start of Rick and Jessie’s relationship. Since they met last season we’ve seen that Rick has feelings for Jessie (including giving her a kiss on the cheek in one episode) and now that they’ve had a proper kiss in this episode it will be interesting to see how their relationship is explored from here.
While they’ve both been part of the show since Rick and co. arrived at the Alexandria Safe-Zone, I’ve been surprised at the lack of scenes with Deanna and Spencer together, especially as Tovah Feldshuh and Austin Nichols were promoted to main cast members. However, this episode gives us some great scenes with both characters and shows that Spencer is getting frustrated with Deanna.
In an interesting twist, we also see that Denise Cloyd is either a lesbian or bisexual as she kisses Tara after saving Scott’s life. This is a twist from the comics where she is straight.
If you read our recent Doctor Who episode review you’ll know I think we saw one of the greatest TV speeches of all that time in that episode, but Jessie’s speech in this episode is also powerful and it’s great to see Jessie growing more as a character (not just with the growing relationship between her and Rick).
Random note: Anyone else think Rick teaching Ron how to shoot a gun is going to lead to something bad in an upcoming episode?
In my opinion, this was another good episode of The Walking Dead. While not outstanding, it does integrate several important parts of the comic series into the show. We learn that Maggie is pregnant, Deanna wants Rick to become the leader of Alexandria and we see the start of Rick and Jessie’s relationship. This is in some ways a set-up episode but I feel it stands out on its own and will lead to important events happening in the next few weeks.

The latest episode of Doctor Who concludes the two-part Zygon arc and features arguably one of the most powerful speeches in TV history (especially in light of recent events).
Peter Capaldi has continued to show how good he is as The Doctor in this series, but somehow with each new story he has found a whole new layer to add to his portrayal of one of TV’s most iconic characters. The speech he gives to Bonnie and Kate encouraging them not to use the two Osgood Boxes is extremely powerful and as viewers we can feel how much pain the Time War still gives him. In my opinion, this speech will be remembered as one of the great TV speeches for years to come.
A lot of fans had pointed out the similarities between the Osgood Boxes and the Moment from “The Day of the Doctor”, with this episode revealing that the Osgood Boxes were meant to symbolise how The Doctor almost destroyed his race, just like Bonnie and Kate almost did in this episode. As this story serves as a carry on from the events in “The Day of the Doctor”, I think it was a great decision by the writers to include this symbolism in the episode.
I really enjoyed seeing Osgood in a bigger role in this two-part story. Ever since “The Day of the Doctor” I thought she was an interesting character that I wanted to see more of, however after her (human or Zygon counterpart?) died in the previous series I thought we wouldn’t be seeing her again, but she was brought back and used really well in this story. I’m not happy that we still didn’t get an answer on whether it was the human or Zygon Osgood that died in the Series 8 finale though, and that would be one of very few complaints I have about this episode. Even though she declined to travel with The Doctor per his request, I hope we see her continue to make strong supporting appearances in the future.
The scenes between Bonnie and Clara were another interesting aspect of the episode, especially when Clara uses their telepathic link to stop Bonnie from hitting The Doctor’s plane with a missile (which resolved the cliff-hanger at the end of the previous episode). I wish we saw more scenes between the two of them, as aside from that scene and a couple of scenes where Bonnie looks to get information from Clara, we don’t see a lot between the two, but Jenna Coleman pulled off both roles naturally.
In my opinion, this was another excellent episode of Doctor Who. The Doctor’s speech is one of my favourite scenes in Doctor Who history and is a really powerful message that can also apply to the real world. Osgood showed she can be a really good supporting character in this two-part arc and Bonnie made for a complex villain, and the connections to “The Day of the Doctor” were done really well. Another outstanding episode in this series of Doctor Who.

The latest episode of Pokémon XY reveals how Clemont and Bonnie met Bunnelby, the only Pokémon that Clemont had on him when he met Ash Ketchum at the start of the XY series.
I thought the decision to have an episode reveal the back-story behind Clemont and Bonnie meeting Bunnelby was an excellent decision. Ever since Clemont was revealed to be the Lumiose City gym leader (a gym that uses electric-type Pokémon) I’ve wondered why the only Pokémon we originally see him with was a normal-type. This episode explains everything.
This episode takes place between two other important events for Clemont and Bonnie (being kicked out of the Lumiose City gym by Clembot and Clemont and Bonnie meeting Ash) so it was interesting to watch an episode with them on the road before they meet Ash.
The episode focuses on Clemont and Bonnie looking to help Bunnelby and its friends protect its home (a train) from an area that is being torn down, while the group is also targeted by a wild Diggersby. The Diggersby was an interesting addition to the episode. Even though it started off on the wrong side, it was nice to see it get a good redemption story by the end of the episode. It started off against Bunnelby and its friends but after Bunnelby left it became the leader of that group. Certainly an interesting twist.
I really liked the narrative technique in this episode. Similarly to a recent episode of The Walking Dead, the episode begins and ends with a scene in the present, and is structured in between with scenes from the past (a story being told by one character to another while we are actually seeing it). It’s an interesting technique that TV shows have started using more now (like The Walking Dead and Pokémon) and hopefully we’ll see more TV shows using this approach soon. When it works well it works really well.
The ending of the flashback shows Bunnelby following Clemont and Bonnie, who ask Bunnelby if it wants to join them. Bunnelby does and Clemont catches Bunnelby, leading to my favourite moment of the whole episode. Clemont releases Bunnelby straight out of its Pokéball and begins sobbing heavily in happiness that Bunnelby decided to join them. I genuinely tried to be sad but it was too funny!
In my opinion, this was another excellent episode of Pokémon XY. I really liked the decision of the writers to reveal how Clemont and Bonnie met Bunnelby and how it decided to join them. The story-line was interesting and the narrative structure of the episode was an interesting choice. The scene where Clemont cries in joy after Bunnelby joins them is one of the funniest scenes in the show.
