Following Daisy Ridley (Rey’s) comments last month that the script for Star Wars Episode VIII is “very good”, John Boyega (Finn) has also commented on the script.
Boyega has stated that the script for Episode VIII is “much darker” than the script for last years’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Boyega is quoted as saying the following:
“It’s great. Much darker, but we’re very excited.”
Star Wars Episode VIII is scheduled for release on May 26th, 2017. The film (directed by Rian Johnson) is set to begin official filming later this month.
Thoughts on what John said? Are you excited for Star Wars Episode VIII?
We’re almost halfway through the first month of 2016 already, but new collectibles from the highly-praised Star Wars: The Force Awakens continue to be revealed- in particular from Hasbro’s Saga Legends line of action figures.
Three new figures have just been revealed (with both carded and uncarded images). These figures include Kylo Ren, Nien Nunb and First Order Stormtrooper Squad Leader.
The Kylo Ren figure is the first figure of the character to show his unmasked look.
Thoughts on the new figures? Are you planning to buy any of them?

A lot of the focus for Star Wars fans recently has been on the big-screen because of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but a new report suggests that Star Wars: Rebels will be returning to the small screen as soon as January 20th.
While the date is unconfirmed, a cable listing has a Rebels episode titled “A Princess on Lothal” listed for airing that day. Could this be a hint that Leia Organa will be appearing in Rebels?
A short description from the listing reads as follows (though it could be a general description for the show):
“A group of rebels try to stop the Empire from spreading tyranny throughout the galaxy.”
This has yet to be confirmed by Lucasfilm or Disney.
Thoughts on this report? Are you excited to see more episodes from Star Wars: Rebels?
Filming on the second season of AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead (the companion series to The Walking Dead) began last month, as announced by the television company themselves.
Production began in the Baja peninsula in Mexico at Baja Studios (a location previously used to film for Titanic, Master and Commander and other feature films).
Showrunner Dave Erickson is quoted as saying the following:
“We are thrilled to be starting production and even more thrilled to be shooting in Mexico. Baja Studios has been home to some of the greatest ocean-set films in recent years and provides all the creative resources we need to begin this new chapter in the Fear saga. We couldn’t be happier.”
Fear The Walking Dead’s second season will consist of 15 episodes, in contrast to the 6 in the shows first season.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has still only been in cinemas for a few weeks, but already a rumoured release date for its Blu-Ray has appeared online.
The rumour indicates that the film’s Blu-Ray release date is April 5th. Previous rumours had suggested “Spring 2016” as an estimated release so it is likely that the date could be accurate.
The rumour also suggests that the Blu-Ray release will be in two versions: A single-disc Blu-ray and a two-disc 3D Blu-ray combo pack. The latter will also include a digital copy.
Thoughts on this rumour? Will you be buying Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Blu-Ray?
