Now that we’re almost through the first month of 2016, rumours have been heating up on this years’ Star Wars film titled Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. One of the persistent rumours is that Darth Vader will be appearing in the film. A new rumour has hinted at Darth Vader partaking in some action during the film.
This is only a rumour and the details may or may not be accurate. However, if you’re looking to avoid any information regarding Rogue One this is your SPOILER alert warning.

The rumour describes storyboards of possible Darth Vader action scenes in the film. The rumoured details can be read below:
“The action sequences filmed are unknown, but there was work pitching the different ways Darth Vader could kill rebels on a battlefield with the Force and his lightsaber. The storyboard “pitches” showing decapitated rebels, people being dismembered by Vader throwing his sword, levitating bodies to make human shields and so on. The art was more violent than what we’ve seen Darth Vader do on screen before.
I wish there were more details on the setting of the ground battle but the most we could get was that it was a smokey battlefield.”
Another rumour has suggested that the original script for Rogue One was pushing an R rating. Even if the film receives a different rating it looks like (if he appears at all) Vader will get some violent action scenes.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled for release on December 16th, 2016.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first film in the anthology series of Star Wars films and is due out later this year. While details on the film are scarce, a new rumour has revealed some possible details about what we can expect from Rogue One.
This is only a rumour and the details may or may not be accurate. However, if you’re looking to avoid any information regarding Rogue One this is your SPOILER alert warning.

The details read as follows:
- Rumors began swirling about stormtroopers in all-black costumes appearing in the film late last year and we can confirm that they will be in the movie. Our sources indicated that they are often referred to as “Death Troopers”, although no mention if the commonly referenced “Shadowtrooper” from the Legacy Universe would be used. (also, recall that Donnie Yen shared an image of some helmets a while back, including a black one).
- One of the prominent characters in the film is a droid that works with the rebels, specifically Felicity Jones’ group, that is said to be a “scene stealer” in the film. It was originally an Empire droid and has been repurposed to serve the rebel alliance. He’s two-legged and a dark grey or black color. In terms of appearance, the droid has long arms and legs and is very different than a typical protocol droid like C-3PO. Could this be the mo-cap character that Alan Tudyk is playing? Time will tell.
- So far we don’t have a confirmation on any of the character names, but you can add this one to the puzzle: “Cashen” is the name of one of the key players, although which we can’t say. It could be spelled differently as well, in that whole “Star Wars” way (i.e. Kashen or Kashyn, etc.). Speculate away on that one, but hey…it’s a name.
- There will be a new Tie Fighter design and AT-ATs will be featured in the film.
- Lastly, addressing those Darth Vader rumors, we can confirm that Darth Vader will be in the film and is expected to have a larger role than originally thought. How big or how involved we can’t say specifically, but expect to see the return of one of Star Wars’ most infamous characters to the big screen.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled for release on December 16th, 2016.

Dragons: Race to the Edge returns for its second season with an Astrid-centric episode, as Berk finally gains new dragons riders and the perfect opportunity to introduce Astrid’s parents is squandered.
While I enjoyed the first 13 episodes of Race to the Edge, I was disappointed that none of those were focused mostly on Astrid so I was delighted that the first episode of the new season shone the spotlight on her. It was almost everything we could have wanted from an Astrid episode as well: Her taking on more of a leadership role, training new dragon riders and lots of personal moments for her.
However, this also leads to my only flaw in this episode. This episode was the perfect opportunity to FINALLY introduce Astrid’s parents and the writers still failed to introduce them. After Berk is attacked and her house is destroyed, it would have been the perfect moment to introduce them (instead of the throwaway mention that they’re ok). It’s an outstanding episode but this was a big opportunity missed.
One of the biggest criticisms in Dragons: Riders of Berk was that Hiccup and co. were the only Berkians to have their own dragons. This episode changes that as Astrid trains a group of the supporting characters (including Spitelout, Gothi, Gustav, Mulch, Bucket and Silent Sven) to ride their own dragons. Even though their training seems to go badly, the new group of riders (the “A-Team”) manage to rescue Astrid and the others when Dagur the Deranged finds and attacks Dragon’s Edge. The entire sequence of the attack is among my favourite sequences of Race to the Edge so far.
Astrid’s training was pretty entertaining to watch as she’s my favourite character from the franchise. I’ve always enjoyed her tough demeanour and it was especially evident when she was training the potential riders. I was hoping she would show a bit more frustration when fighting Dagur though (considering he did blow up her parent’s house).
Random note: Anyone else really like the talk scene with Astrid and Stoick the Vast? I’ve wanted to see more scenes with only these two characters (Hiccup’s soon to be girlfriend and his dad) so I was very happy that such a scene was included in this episode.
The episode ends with Astrid getting annoyed at the new group of riders for disobeying her orders, but then says that they were brave and are ready to defend Berk- meaning she will stay on Dragon’s Edge and thus changing her mind from staying on Berk.
In my opinion, this was an excellent start to the second season of Dragons: Race to the Edge. It was great to finally get an Astrid-focused episode that had a lot of personal moments for her. I really enjoyed watching her training new dragon riders and the scene with her and Stoick was excellent. Hopefully we’ll see more of “the A-Team” very soon. However, the episode suffers from the writers squandering an easy opportunity to finally introduce Astrid’s parents.

The latest episode of The Big Bang Theory sees the gang decide to go on a trip to Vegas to get away from Sheldon Cooper, as Sheldon learns about the importance of empathy and apologising to other people.
I have to be honest, after watching this episode I have very mixed views on it. The episode is very entertaining (showing that The Big Bang Theory is definitely still capable of great humour) but it felt like the writers were going back to square one with developing Sheldon. After nine seasons and numerous episodes that tackled similar themes, I feel that this episode started off as if Sheldon hadn’t grown as a character since the beginning of the show.
That said, the overall arc for Sheldon’s character in this episode was strong. Unfortunately, the theme the writers went for didn’t suit the character nine seasons in and it was a theme that should have been done a lot earlier in the show. However, seeing Sheldon become desperate to make amends to the group did make up for it slightly.
On a few positive notes, it was great to finally see Emily play a bigger role. Laura Spencer has only appeared as her character sporadically since being promoted to a main cast member this season, so it was great that the writers finally gave her a more significant role in this episode. Her standing up to Sheldon was a standout moment in this episode.
I also think the use of flashbacks was handled very well in the episode. The flashbacks weren’t confusing and gave a greater sense as to why everyone was angry with Sheldon.
Finally, the ending of the episode is absolutely hysterical with Raj pole-dancing. Definitely the best ending to an episode of The Big Bang Theory for a long-time, but if only the rest of the episode was as good…
In my opinion, this was an average episode of The Big Bang Theory. While very entertaining (especially the ending with Raj), the plot with Sheldon felt like it should have been done many seasons ago and it felt like all of his character growth over the years was forgotten. That said, it did improve once it got going. It was great to finally see Emily play a bigger role.

The latest episode of The Big Bang Theory sees Stuart Bloom leave Howard and Bernadette Wolowitz’s house, Leonard Hofstadter and Penny both realise they still have insecurities and Sheldon Cooper and Raj Koothrappali discover an asteroid.
I really enjoyed this episode of The Big Bang Theory because it moves the story along, while also raising more points about previous plot-lines used on the show. The way the episode was able to manage this while still flowing well and standing out on its own made it a fun episode to watch.
The writers made a good choice with deciding that Stuart should have his own apartment. While I have found the quips with his living in Howard and Bernadette’s house to be amusing, they were starting to become a little stale and I think the writers picked the right time to add to his story. I think his departure will be best remembered for Howard’s pants moment though (and for Stuart creepily watching them while they’re asleep).
I think the writers made an interesting choice reviving an old plot line- Leonard and Penny’s insecurities. The introduction of Dr. Gallo was interesting because it gave both characters someone new to open up about their insecurities to. As a result, we see that both Leonard and Penny still have many insecurities. It was especially interesting to watch Dr. Gallo interrogate Penny about her marriage to Leonard.
While (in my opinion anyway) they are the weakest scenes of the episode, the Sheldon and Raj scenes are entertaining in their own right. Their discovery of an asteroid and Sheldon’s decision to name it after Amy are nice touches to the episode (though somehow I don’t think Amy wants to name her children after Raj).
Note: Anyone else find it amusing that Sheldon was responsible for his father being fired from work?
The episode ends on an interesting note with most of the characters saying that they miss something: Sheldon missing Amy, Amy missing Sheldon, Howard and Bernadette missing Stuart, Penny missing when life was simpler and Stuart missing Howard and Bernadette.
In my opinion, this was a solid episode of The Big Bang Theory. Stuart moving out of Howard and Bernadette’s house was a good move by the writers and hopefully we’ll see his new apartment soon. Learning that Leonard and Penny still have insecurities was interesting and the final scene was a nice note to end the episode on.

The latest episode of Star Wars: Rebels sees Sabine Wren confront her past as she takes on her people (the Mandalorians), in an episode that has a lot of references to the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.
Ever since the beginning of Rebels I’ve been hoping that the Mandalorians would be introduced into the show (seen as Sabine is one of the main characters and is a Mandalorian herself), so I was very happy to see them featured in this episode. The number of references to The Clone Wars a nice bonus for fans of that animated series, but it was also interesting to learn of the Empire’s control on Mandalore and how a new group (The Protectors) are overlooking Concord Dawn- a planet that was only previously mentioned in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode “The Box”, and was the homeworld of Jango Fett and Rako Hardeen. It was great to finally see this planet officially introduced in the Star Wars universe.
The Protectors were led by Fenn Rau, who we quickly learn fought during the Clone Wars era (and appears in the recently released comic Star Wars: Kanan 10: First Blood, Part IV: The Mesas of Mygeeto). I thought this was a great connection with the comic also only being released this week and it shows how Disney (as well as the Lucasfilm Story Group) is working hard to connect the Star Wars universe). Rau is voiced by Kevin McKidd, making his debut in the Star Wars universe. I think introducing a character like Rau was a great way to explore other Mandalorian factions and (as a fan of his work) I was very happy to hear a well-established actor like McKidd bringing a distinguished voice to the character.
Watching Sabine and Kanan Jarrus working together for a chunk of the episode was an interesting dynamic to watch, with a Jedi and Mandalorian partnering and having very different ideas for what to do with The Protectors- Kanan wanting to continue Hera’s mission of negotiating and Sabine wanting to get revenge on Rau for injuring Hera early on in the episode. Eventually, Kanan and Sabine succeed in taking Rau prisoner and he becomes a reluctant ally of the rebels. Rau’s “support” gives the rebels a new hyperspace route to Lothal. I hope we see more of Kanan and Sabine working together in future episodes.
In my opinion, this was an excellent episode of Star Wars: Rebels. It was great to learn more about Sabine’s back-story and seeing the Mandalorians brought into Rebels was a nice treat for long-time fans of the characters. Fenn Rau was an interesting new character to be introduced to and it was great to see a Kanan/Sabine team-up. Hopefully we’ll see more of the Mandalorians on Rebels and Mandalore itself brought onto the show.
