Marvel fans were really excited to learn last year that Martin Freeman (The Hobbit trilogy, Sherlock) would be part of the Captain America: Civil War cast. However, details on his role have been scarce… until now.
Empire magazine have revealed that Freeman will be playing comic series character Everett Ross. A picture of him in the film can be seen at the top of this article alongside Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter.
Marvel comics fans know Everett Ross the United States’ main representative in Wakanda. The character of Ross in Civil War will be tweaked slightly as he will be acting as a member of the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre.
The report also indicates that Everett Ross is likely (but not confirmed as of yet) to appear in the Black Panther movie.
“Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.”
Captain America: Civil War is set for release on May 6th, 2016.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may be coming out next month but DC fans are just as excited about the Justice League movie. The movie is being released in two parts and it has been announced that Justice League: Part One will begin production on April 11th.
Justice League will primarily film at Warner Bros. Leavesden studios in England. Other filming locations will include other spots in London and in Iceland.
Director Zack Snyder is quoted as saying the following:
“The idea that we could begin to boot up a Justice League concept was a cool thing. It was a little bit of an ‘about time’ moment, and I don’t blame [the studio] for feeling that way, because it’s a long time coming. But I do feel like it’s a little bit of a creative hurdle. It seems like an easy thing to do at first glance, the idea that, ‘Oh, we just get the rest of the superheroes in there.’ But you have to [establish] a world where they can exist. The studio really wants us to try and pace it up, as far as —now we have an idea where we’re going.”
Justice League: Part One is scheduled for release on November 17th, 2017. Justice League: Part Two will follow on June 14th, 2019.

Paramount Pictures have stated that the Transformers spin-off movie centred on Bumblebee will be shot at a lower cost to be the main Transformers films.
The film will also not be directed by Michael Bay (the director of the previous Transformers films). It will be released in between Transformers 5 and 6 (coming in 2017 and 2019 respectively).
Paramount CEO Brad Grey is quoted as saying the following:
“There are characters in the ‘Transformers’ universe that can be and should be made into their own movies. We’ve brought in a pretty strong writing staff run by Akiva Goldsman, and they have put together eight or nine interesting stories. So, between that group and Steven Spielberg’s guidance on a story level, these characters are a big business for us to pursue.”
The Transformers Bumblee spin-off movie is scheduled for release on June 8th, 2018.
