Confirmed- Game of Thrones Renewed for a Seventh Season

EGP Website Article Image 1537

Prior to the Season 6 premiere tomorrow, HBO has officially renewed Game of Thrones for a seventh season.

This isn’t a surprise as showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have previously indicated that they intend to do at least eight seasons. However, it’s still nice to get confirmation of the renewal for seventh season- especially as the sixth season hasn’t begun airing yet.

The seventh and eighth seasons are rumoured to be shorter than the other seasons. All of the other seasons (including Season 6) have had ten episodes.

The sixth season of Game of Thrones premieres tomorrow, April 24th.

Thoughts on this news? Are you looking forward to more seasons of Game of Thrones?

Confirmed- Scarlet Witch to Return for Avengers Infinity War

EGP Website Article Image 1534

Elizabeth Olsen will be reprising her role of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch for Avengers: Infinity War Part 1.

The news was revealed by co-director Joe Russo during the Captain America: Civil War “Team Captain America” press conference. He started off by talking about her arc in Civil War and concluded by revealing that she will appear in Avengers: Infinity War Part 1.

Russo is quoted as saying the following:

“She is on a growth arc, and it is part of her development. It is very tricky with powerful characters, because unless they have an internal struggle or a flaw that limits them then they do become limitless, and the storytelling becomes muddled and not very interesting. You know she could’ve stopped that fight at the airport in 5 seconds if she were at the peak of her powers, so it really has to do her character specifically going on a journey to understand what the limits of her powers are. She makes a mistake very early in the movie that sets her back, and we’ll get to see where she goes in Infinity War.”

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is scheduled for release on May 4th, 2018.

Report- Oscar Isaac Says that Star Wars Episode VIII Feels Like an Indie Film

EGP Website Article Image 1531

Production on Star Wars Episode VIII is well underway. Though the film won’t be released until December next year, many fans are excited to see the next adventures of Rey, Finn and Luke Skywalker.

Poe Dameron (played by Oscar Isaac) will also be returning for the film. Isaac himself recently spoke to LA Times about progress on the production under new direction Rian Johnson and what the new film feels like.

Isaac is quoted as saying the following on comments by The Force Awakens co-writer Lawrence Kasdan stating that Johnson’s work would be “weird” and “unlike anything that’s ever been in Star Wars”:

“I would agree with [Kasdan], Rian is definitely going to places and investigating things that haven’t really been done in the ‘Star Wars’ universe. For me, it’s so fun getting to explore different things that I wouldn’t have expected in this universe.”

In addition, he is quoted as saying the following on the indie vibe he feels working with Johnson on Episode VIII has:

“In some ways it feels like we’re making an independent film, Certain things we get to play with – this kind of intimacy that we get to find – it’s special. It’s been really fun.”

Star Wars Episode VIII is scheduled for release on December 15th, 2017.

Thoughts on what Oscar said? Does this make you more or less excited for the release of Star Wars Episode VIII?

Rumour- Descriptions of Luke Skywalker’s & Rey’s Star Wars Episode VIII Costumes Revealed

EGP Website Article Image 1529EGP Website Article Image 1530

Rumoured descriptions of the costumes that will be worn by Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) in Star Wars Episode VIII have been revealed.

*If you’re looking to avoid any potential details regarding Star Wars Episode VIII this is your SPOILER ALERT warning*.

………….

………..

……..

“Rey’s costume is very much what we saw in The Force Awakens at the very end of the film. She has the grey capri length pants with boots as well as the arm wraps. But her vest from the end of the film is gone and she’s only wearing the off white colored tunic beneath, giving the costume a Luke Skywalker vibe. Her hair is also worn down now. She still wears the gun at her hips she received from Han Solo in The Force Awakens. I think that might be telling about where Rey is at in terms of her training and state.

Luke Skywalker wears a darker costume compared to what we saw in The Force Awakens. This costume is more evocative of his Return of the Jedi clothes in cut and color. His under tunic reminds me of Count Dooku but his very dark grey cape drops over the top of his shoulders and chest like a shawl. This leaves his right arm free but half of his chest covered by the cape. It’s almost similar to the asymmetrical cut of Captain Phasma’s cape, but more like a shawl in the way it cover his chest.

The cool part I kept for this write up is that Luke’s black glove from Return of the Jedi is back on his hand. Luke Skywalker’s tunic is cut the same as Dooku’s but the “skirt” part of the tunic appears to be little closer to the knees than Dooku’s was. The shawl aspect of the cape hangs to the left so he can still fight with his right hand as it drapes to the left.”

Star Wars Episode VIII is scheduled for release on December 15th, 2017.

Thoughts on this rumour? Are you excited to see more of Luke Skywalker and Rey in Star Wars Episode VIII?
