Screenwriter Zack Stentz (X-Men: First Class, Thor, Power Rangers) has confirmed that he will be writing the script for Warner Bros. upcoming DC Comics movie Booster Gold.
Stentz made the confirmation during an appearance on the latest instalment of Screen Junkies’ “Movie Fights”. He said:
“I am jumping into the DC Universe with both feet, and I am at least, until they fire me, I’m gonna be writing Booster Gold — for the big screen.”
This will mark Stentz’s second involvement with DC Comics. He recently wrote the script for the Kevin Smith-directed episode of The Flash titled “The Runaway Dinosaur”.
A description of the character from the comics can be read below:
“In the comics, Booster Gold is a disgraced athlete who steals a time machine and some superhero equipment to travel back in time and become a celebrity. Ultimately his journey from laughingstock to hero includes, among other things, fathering a child — Rip Hunter, the inventor of time travel in the DC Universe.”
The movie is being developed by Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow).

Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man, Platoon, Antichrist, The Grand Budapest Hotel)’s role in the Justice League movie is rumoured to be the role of an Atlantean.
There is no word on the exact Atlantean that he’s rumoured to be portraying. The original announcement of Dafoe’s casting in the movie mentioned that he would be playing a “good guy”. There are very famous Atlantean heroes so we’ll have to wait to find out who he’s playing.
It’s also rumoured that the underwater sequences for Justice League and Aquaman will be altered with green screens and elaborate rigs instead of a water tank (which will mean that Aquaman actor Jason Momoa won’t have to hold in his breath as he would if he was actually underwater).
The Justice League: Part One is scheduled for release on November 17th, 2017. Part Two will follow on June 14th, 2019.
Thoughts on this rumour? Are you looking forward to seeing Willem Dafoe’s character in the Justice League movie?

Star Wars Battlefront caused a lot of controversy last year for a number of reasons. Battlefront may have been successful on a financial level (selling 14 million copies worldwide) but fans have been very vocal about their complaints with the game. One of the chief reasons was its lack of a single-player campaign.
Recently, EA’s executive vice president Patrick Söderlund spoke at a recent Investor’s Day event and addressed the complaints surrounding the lack of a single-player campaign. He said:
“The one thing that we got criticized for was the lack of a single-player campaign. It was a conscious decision we made due to time and being able to launch the game side-by-side with the movie that came out to get the strongest possible impact. I think the team created a really good game based on the premise that we had. I would say the game has done very well for us and reached a very different demographic than a traditional EA game. So from that perspective, it’s a success. Are we happy with the 75 rating? No. Is that something we’re going to cure going forward? Absolutely.”
Söderlund also added that they want to fix the issues going forward, saying:
“The depth and breadth is something that’s proving to be more and more important. In a world where we want $60 up front and we expect people to stay with us over the course of a long time, the depth of what we offer is important…. We have to go baStar Wars Celebration Europe in Julyck and course correct that for another version if we were ever to build one.”
They only appeared briefly in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but a new rumour suggests that fans will see more of the Knights of Ren in Star Wars Episode VIII. Rumoured details of a scene involving the Knights of Ren have surfaced online.
*This is a rumour and may or may not be accurate. However, if you’re looking to avoid any details concerning Star Wars Episode VIII this is your SPOILER ALERT warning.*

The Knights of Ren were supposedly on location with Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Daisy Ridley (Rey) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) in Ireland last weekend. The scenes filmed are said to be for the planet seen at the end of The Force Awakens.
The scenes are described as follows:
Luke Skywalker and Rey are on Ahch-To just before nightfall as the sun sets in the background and it starts to rain.
Rey’s hair is pulled back. She doesn’t have the vest from VII on.
Luke and Rey are wearing the costumes we described before.
Kylo Ren and The Knights of Ren turn up along the coast.
Kylo Ren continues advancing towards the heroes with the Knights of Ren.
Kylo does not wear the mask here.
Kylo has the same cross guard saber as he did in VII.
Kylo’s costume looked the same as in VII.
Rey and Kylo Ren duel one-on-one and end up fighting alongside the cliff face over looking the nighttime water.
Kylo wants his revenge after Rey disgraced him.
The Knights of Ren go for Luke Skywalker while Rey is left for Kylo.
Luke Skywalker engages the knights on the beach while Kylo attempts to kill Rey.
The first black knight has an axe and moves towards the Luke but is Force pushed away to his death after being thrown through the air.
After Luke dispatches the first knight he ignites his green lightsaber.
Luke moves through each knight one by one.
Rey and Kylo’s battle moves up to the side of a cliff.
Suddenly Rey is nowhere to be seen. She’s taken out of the battle, either wounded or appears to go over the side of the cliff.
Luke Skywalker casually walks towards Kylo to finish him but Kylo retreats when he sees Skywalker and his crew defeated.
Luke Skywalker is a badass Jedi and he’ll destroy your squad.
It’s also rumoured that extensions of this set have been created at Pinewood Studios. This means that it’s likely that this scene will continue beyond what was shot in Ireland.
Star Wars Episode VIII opens on December 15th, 2017.
Thoughts on this rumour? Are you excited at the prospect of seeing more of the Knights of Ren in Star Wars Episode VIII?
*Spoilers ahead for last week’s Legends of Tomorrow episode “Destiny”*.
Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold) will not be a series regular in the second season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow following his characters apparent death in last week’s episode “Destiny”.
The episode saw Cold sacrifice himself to save the rest of the team and destroy the Vanishing Point (thus resulting in the deaths of many of the Time Masters).
However, a new report indicates that he will become a regular in the “Berlantiverse”. Miller’s contract will allow him to appear as a recurring guest on at least The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow in as many episodes as if he were a regular on just one of the shows.
Producer Greg Berlanti was asked about the character and the DC TV shows. He said:
“One of the joys and advantages is that it allows us to change in essence who is on The Waverider and not. Flash and Arrow are very much about building one team, while there is an anthology element to Legends. He is a guy who was a villain at the beginning, finding the hero in him by the end.”
Warner Bros. are reportedly developing a Suicide Squad spin-off movie focusing on Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and other DC female villains and heroes.
Robbie is said to have signed on as a producer in addition to starring in the film. The movie is said to have a female screenwriter signed on as well (but who it is hasn’t been revealed).
The report states that “names such as Batgirl and Birds of Prey have surfaced, although in what capacity, it’s not clear.”
The source states:
“Sources say that Robbie was the impetus for the project, adding that when she got the part for the movie, she dove deep into the comics to learn as much as possible on the character. In the process, she fell for DC’s female characters. She brought on the writer to help develop the project and brought it to Warner, who snapped it up.”
No estimated release date for the movie has been announced.
