Sir Anthony Hopkins (Thor, The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon, Solace, The Elephant Man) has officially joined the cast of Transformers: The Last Knight.
A tweet from the Transformers Twitter account revealed the casting. You can view that tweet below:
The title of the fifth instalment in the Transformers film franchise has officially been revealed as Transformers: The Last Knight.
It’s speculated that the title is a reference to the Knights of Cybertron. This is due to them being alluded to in the most recent Transformers film, Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Production on the film began earlier this week (June 6th) in Detroit. Other locations around the world have been scheduled for production.
Michigan Film & Digital Media Office Commissioner Jenell Leonard said:
“Having one of the highest-profile film franchises created in Michigan is a major economic boost and a testament to the talent of the state’s production community. The production and economic investment is now happening sooner rather than later, and obviously, the project is a certainty rather than merely a possibility.”
The first teaser for the film has also been released. You can watch it below:
The teaser features an image of Optimus Prime and the sound of the character breathing.
Transformers: The Last Knight is scheduled for release on June 23rd, 2017.

Director Bryan Singer has revealed that he would like to see X-Men character Mystique (played by Jennifer Lawrence in the recent films) get her own solo film, preferably with Lawrence reprising the role of the shape-shifting mutant.
Singer, along with producer/writer Simon Kinberg, appeared on the Empire Podcast to discuss the recently released X-Men: Apocalypse and what the future holds for the X-Men films.
During the interview Singer hinted that solo films for more X-Men characters are on the way, in which he stated his desire to see Mystique branch out on her own. Singer said:
“People have asked if I’d do a standalone. I think she’s right for it, whether it’s Jennifer or that character [Mystique] for some kind of standalone just because she has that view of the world. Xavier can get in Cerebro and look at the world but he’d rather just teach classes and see the beauty of mutants and humans co-existing, and then along comes Raven with a reality check on the state of the world. Just because everyone knows about mutants doesn’t mean they like them or don’t fear them. Even at the end of this movie- renewed suspicion and concern. Portions of the world are damaged. It opens up a lot of avenues.”
You can listen to the interview below. Singer’s comments on a Mystique solo film are 30 minutes in:
Mystique initially rejects the heroic symbol that she has become to other mutants, claiming “I’m the face of a world that doesn’t exist”. However, by the end of the film she embraces the role and becomes the battlefield leader of the X-Men.
X-Men: Apocalypse is currently playing in cinemas.
Thoughts on what Bryan Singer said? Would you watch a Mystique solo film?
Kyber crystals have been around for a long time in the Star Wars universe. The crystals originally debuted in the novel Star Wars: Splinter of the Minds Eye(released in 1978), where a kyber crystal was the focus of the story. The novel was originally intended to be the sequel to the original Star Wars film (now known as Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope) when George Lucas wasn’t sure if he could make more films. Since then the kyber crystals have had several appearances in the current canon. Kyber crystals are used to power up lightsabers (as seen in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series).
However, more recent appearances of the kyber crystals have revealed another use. Massive kyber crystals can be used to power up weapons. Both the unproduced The Clone Wars “Crystal Crisis” arc and the Star Wars: Rebels episode “Breaking Ranks” hinted that they would be used to power the Death Star’s laser.
Therefore, with the Death Star appearing in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story it’s no surprise that kyber crystals are rumoured to be featuring the film.
*If you’re looking to avoid any potential details regarding Rogue One this is your SPOILER ALERT warning.*

The source states:
“The crystals are being (mined?) taken from a mountain where the crystals are placed into crates. There is a communication platform there on the side of the mountain where Imperial Scientists reside. Death Squad’s Death Troopers are also at the location for the sequence. On set there were a lot of crates. We may have seen these crates in drone photos but we aren’t certain yet.”
Telltale Games’ Head of Creative Communications Job J. Stauffer has revealed that Batman: The Telltale Series will officially be debuting this summer.
Stauffer made the announcement via Twitter. His tweet can be viewed below:

— Job Stauffer is ON A VOYAGE to Immersive Wellbeing (@jobjstauffer) June 5, 2016
As you can also see in the tweet, Stauffer also revealed that the third season of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead will premiere before the end of the year. He also mentioned that Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is coming up very soon and it’s likely that new details on both games will likely be revealed there.
Telltale originally announced their plans to make a Batman Telltale game last year at The Game Awards. They then revealed new details back in March about the art style they were going for and some of the characters will appear in the game. The characters revealed included Alfred Pennyworth, Renee Montoya, Vicki Vale and Jim Gordon.

Thor: Ragnarok will reportedly have an element from the Planet Hulk comic series in the film.
Much like Captain America: Civil War was more of an ensemble film than just a Captain America film, the report suggests that the third Thor film will be similar. It suggests that Thor: Ragnarok will be a mash-up of pieces from the Ragnarok story-line and the Planet Hulk story-line from Marvel Comics. Thor will “definitely be involved in some gladiatorial games run by the Grandmaster”, who will be played by Jeff Goldblum.
The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) will have a costume similar to his design in Planet Hulk. The costume will include the primal accessories and the one-sided armour covering his left arm.
No official details on how either character gets to the planet they meet on have been revealed, but once there notable pieces of both comic book story-lines will be evident.
The report also indicates that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will sport a shaved head when he’s on the planet. Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie will have a different look to the comic counterpart of the character. As opposed to the Nordic armour from the comics she will be sporting war paint and skew towards a more primal look as well.
Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for release on November 3rd, 2017.

Nintendo released a new video for the upcoming Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon video-games which revealed several new details for the game. The most notable details revealed were about the legendary Pokémon in the next generation (which can be seen on the boxes of both games).
You can watch the new video below:
The legendary on the box of Pokémon Sun is called Solgaleo. Solgaleo is a Psychic/Steel type and it has the ability “Full Metal Body”. This means that its stats can’t be lowered by attacks. Solgaleo’s signature move is Sunsteel Strike.

Another new feature for the game will allow players to register Pokémon in their Pokédex via QR Codes.
The video also gave fans a bigger look at the Alola region. It revealed that the region is made up of a chain of islands. The region is described as “containing four natural islands and an artificial island and are filled with “many” new types of Pokémon never before seen in the games.”
The final details revealed are on several of the characters that will feature in the games. The new professor is called Kukui. Other characters revealed include Kukui’s mysterious assistant Lillie and a new “friend” called Hau.
