Yahoo have released the first look at Michael Fassbender as the lead character in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed film.
Michael, who is best-known for playing Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past (and reprises the role in next years X-Men: Apocalypse) will play a character called Callum Lynch in Assassin’s Creed. The movie may be based on the popular game series by Ubisoft but they have decided to go with a new protagonist and not use one from the games.
Yahoo also stated that the movie will be set in the same world as the video games and Callum Lynch is being introduced into that world. Note: This all but confirms that the events of the movie are of the same canon and within the video game series.
Production for the Assassin’s Creed movie begins on Monday August 31st.

Anticipation for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is already at an insane level, and it just got even more insane. We’ve already had two teaser trailers (the second released at Celebration Anaheim in April) but a new teaser has just been released. This teaser is much shorter in length but still contains enough footage to get people talking.
If you’re looking to avoid any The Force Awakens spoilers, you should probably not watch this teaser as the ending spoils something major (if you didn’t see Drew Struzan’s The Force Awakens poster for D23 attendees). Therefore, this is your official SPOILER alert warning.
The teaser features new footage and footage we’ve seen before, as well as (what appears to be) a new score from John Williams. The new footage features Rey and BB-8 on a green planet and one of the new trio holding a lightsaber. Note: We won’t say who it is so only look if you really want to know before the release of The Force Awakens. The lightsaber being held appears to be the old lightsaber of Luke Skywalker though.
Thoughts on the teaser? Are you excited for the release of The Force Awakens?

The return of Star Wars to the big screen this year is a big deal for many, but for a lot of people the return of the popular Star Wars Battlefront video-games is just as big of a deal. Even though the game is still not due out until November 17th, there is massive hype surrounding the first DLC for the new Battlefront.
Not only is the first DLC, “The Battle of Jakku”, related to this year’s Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens release but the events of the DLC are canon to and tie in directly with the film. To preview the DLC, EA have released two pieces of concept art and a description for the DLC. Note: One of the pieces of concept art was shown at the D23 Expo prior to its official release).
EA’s description of the DLC reads: “
Taking place in the aftermath of the Rebel victory in the Battle of Endor, players will experience the events that created the massive, battle-scarred landscape of Jakku shown in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
DICE concept artist Anton Grandert previewed the DLC further, saying this about the highly anticipated DLC:
“There’s a David and Goliath theme to this. The epic, huge super structures of the Star Destroyers contrast against the tiny but brave Rebel soldiers fighting the Imperial forces.
We wanted to portray a battle completely surrounding you, in every direction. Debris is falling from the sky, telling the story of battles above. On the surface of the planet you can see ground troops as well as X-wings, all taking part of the fight”
Fans who have pre-ordered Battlefront can play the DLC on December 1st, but everyone who hasn’t pre-ordered will have to wait until December 7th when it is made free to the public.
Thoughts on the preview? Are you looking forward to playing the first DLC when it’s made available?

Even though Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is getting closer by the day, Star Wars fans shouldn’t forget that more Star Wars films are on the way after it is released. The first of these is Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, a spin-off film which will cover the Rebels stealing the Death Plans as mentioned in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
At Disney’s very own D23 Expo recently, the cast, crew and official logo for Rogue One were all revealed and it was confirmed that filming on Rogue One had begun. With new filming means new leaked set photos with filming currently rumoured to be taking place at Cardington Sheds in Bedfordshire, England.
If you don’t want to know anything about Rogue One this is your SPOILER alert warning:
A stone façade can be seen in the first pictures which looks similar to the stone structure seen in the cast picture. The final picture appears to have a wooden cut out of an X-Wing which could definitely indicate that Rogue One is being filmed there.
Thoughts on the set photos? Are you looking forward to the release of Rogue One?

A new report has indicated that the television network FX is now developing a spin-off for its popular Sons of Anarchy series.
The spin-off, if the report is accurate, would focus on the motorcycle group from the original series- the Mayans. This group regularly had conflicts with Son of Anarchy’s SAMCRO crew and also ran numerous operations in the series, including drug and prostitution.
Sons of Anarchy creator and producer Kurt Sutter is said to be working with FX on the series and is said to be serving as an executive producer on the spin-off.
Thoughts on this report? Would you watch a Sons of Anarchy spin-off series focusing on the Mayans?

The Walking Dead companion series Fear The Walking Dead may have begun airing a few days ago, but let’s not forget about the main series and especially not about a cast member who has been around since the beginning of the show.
Steven Yeun has played Glenn since the very first episode (though just a voice in that first episode) but every season he continues to surprise us with his impressive performances. In Season 5, Glenn continued to be a stand-out character with Andrew Lincoln stating that he felt Glenn was the best character in the second half of Season 5. Lincoln’s comments were made prior to the second half even starting, but he was proven correct with Noah’s death and everything that went down with Nicholas.
However, even though he has already been through a lot Steven hints that Season 6 will be even more emotional:
“We’re seeing everybody as who they are now. You’ve found them grizzled. You’ve found them completely broken and shattered and they’ve all witnessed and experienced terrible things. And so you get to see them there. We wear it on our face. We wear it on our body. To see where we’ve evolved to is awesome. So Season 6 is that, is showing how much has been taken away from us. The end goal is to find some semblance of life that we lost before. I think you’re going to see some deeply emotional character story and you’re also going to see, as we always do, some crazy ass shit.”
Thoughts on what Steven said? Are you excited to see what they do with Glenn in The Walking Dead Season 6?

Contrary to rumours that had surfaced last week, it appears the rumours that the director of the Mad Max films, George Miller, would be directing a sequel to Man of Steel are false. If you’re hoping for a sequel to Henry Cavill’s debut film as Superman then don’t get your hopes up as the previously rumoured sequel is now said to be on permanent hold.
Miller is said to be considering working on a DC Comics movie but only if the story interests him. Whatever that story is it won’t be a Man of Steel sequel.
Considering that Warner Bros. is already rumoured to be thinking about making several solo Batman films for Ben Affleck, it is a surprise that they may not be doing the same thing for Henry Cavill’s Superman.
Thoughts on this rumour? Are you disappointed that we may never see a sequel to Man of Steel?
