The key art for Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 has officially been unveiled. It contains numerous characters, ships and vehicles from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the upcoming film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Some of the Rogue One elements in the key art hadn’t been revealed officially prior to its unveiling. The most notable is the first glimpse at the newly revealed Shoretrooper. As well as the main characters, it also shows a squad of Death Troopers in all-black armour and the new Imperial Walkers which are now confirmed to be called All Terrain Armored Cargo Transports (AT-ACT).
The artwork will be available to buy as a poster at Celebration Europe. It will also be featured on merchandise available to buy at the convention. Star Wars Celebration Europe will be taking place from July 15th-17th at the ExCeL London Exhibition Centre in London, England.

Executive producer Dave Filoni will be screening the first two episodes in the third season of the Star Wars: Rebels animated series at Star Wars Celebration Europe in July.
A statement on StarWars.com says:
“Still recovering from the epic Star Wars Rebels Season Two finale? Feel like you have more questions than answers about what the future holds for the crew of the Ghost? Fear not! Star Wars Rebels executive producer and supervising director Dave Filoni is headed to Star Wars Celebration Europe in London this July. Filoni (and special guests) will share highly guarded sneak peeks at what’s to come in Star Wars Rebels Season Three, including a screening of the first two episodes!
A long-time Star Wars fan himself, Filoni’s direction has added depth and resonance to the universe and characters with the critically acclaimed Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels animated series. Fans at Celebration are in for great programming, and some unforgettable Q&A sessions, whenever Filoni takes the stage.”
Filoni also tweeted the following:
I'm looking forward to seeing you all at #SWCE 2016! And remember, there's always a bit of truth in legends. pic.twitter.com/auc6HDDAx1
The line “There’s always a bit of truth in legends” was uttered by Ahsoka Tano in the second season finale episode “Twilight of the Apprentice”. The book pictured in the tweet is Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire. This could mean that Filoni could be confirming a rumour from earlier this year.
Star Wars Celebration Europe will be taking place from July 15th-17th at the ExCeL London Exhibition Centre in London, England.

Filming of Star Wars Episode VIII in Ireland has wrapped up. Production on the film had temporarily moved to Ireland earlier in the year and filming had been taking place for a few weeks.
The first time Ireland was used for shooting a Star Wars film was for the final scene in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The film ended with Rey finding Luke Skywalker on the planet Ahch-To and the scene was shot on Skellig Michael. It’s assumed that the filming on Ceann Sibéal and Malin Head was for more scenes on Ahch-To.
A wrap party was held on Wednesday for the cast and crew. Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Daisy Ridley (Rey) and over 300 others who participated celebrated at the Foxy John’s pub in Dingle.
RTÉ reports:
“Those attending the private function witnessed Ridley, who plays the role of Rey in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, go behind the counter to pull a few pints for her colleagues. Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker, also dropped in to celebrate the end of the three-week shoot in Ireland. The 64-year-old was driven to the pub on Main Street in a blacked-windowed SUV.”

Carrie-Anne Moss (Jessica Jones) will be reprising her role of Jeri Hogarth from Jessica Jones for Marvel’s currently filming Iron Fist series.
Iron Fist is the last solo Marvel series on Netflix before the team up mini-series called The Defenders. The Defenders will star Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones).
Jeri Hogarth is a gender-swapped version of Jeryn Hogarth from the comics. In the comics Jeryn is more closely associated with Iron Fist than the other heroes, so Jeri making an appearance in Iron Fist makes sense. Hogarth started out as a friend of Wendell Rand, Danny’s father, before becoming the lawyer for “Heroes for Hire,” the superhero business that Danny and Luke ran together.
Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb said:
“Carrie-Anne has fast become a fan-favorite part of our street level saga, and we share our viewers’ excitement in bringing her into Marvel’s Iron Fist. As Marvel fans know, Hogarth in the comics plays a critical role in the life of Danny Rand, so it seems only fitting that Carrie-Anne join in.”
Showrunner and executive producer Scott Buck added:
“Danny Rand lives in the highest stratosphere of New York’s business society and he’s going to need a ruthless lawyer to help him navigate this alien world. I’m very happy to have the opportunity to bring Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth into Marvel’s Iron Fist.”
Iron Fist will mark the third appearance of Moss/Jeri Jogarth in the Marvel/Netflix universe. Following her supporting role in Jessica Jones she also appeared in the Daredevil Season 2 finale episode “A Cold Day in Hell’s Kitchen”.
“In “Marvel’s Iron Fist,” Danny Rand returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting his world around him with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.”
The Iron Fist series is expected to debut on Netflix sometime in 2017.
Thoughts on this news? Are you looking forward to seeing Jeri Hogarth appear in the Iron Fist series?
Producer Joel Silver has hinted that the third instalment in the Sherlock Holmes films (starring Robert Downey Jr.) will begin filming before the end of the year.
Silver said:
“It looks like it could happen this fall. Downey said he wants to do it. He’s gotta launch into another Avengers movie, right after the New Year, so we’re trying to get it done. We have a script that we like. Jude [Law] is available and Downey is available, and we’re hoping we can get it done. If it works, great. If not, we’ll do it another time. But, it looks like it could happen now.”
Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 & 2 begin filming in November. However, Downey Jr. won’t begin filming his scenes until early next year so filming a third Sherlock Holmes looks doable.
Silver also hopes that it won’t be the last Sherlock Holmes film, saying:
“I hope [it’s not the last one]. I don’t think so. How many Bond films have they made? As long as there’s a character, we can work with it. It’s not an end story. We can keep going, as long as people want to do it. It’s [the actor’s] call. They have to say, ‘Okay, I’m ready to go.’ I read about them making another Bad Boys. If they want to do it, then you try to get it done.”
The previous instalment in the series, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, was released as far back as 2011. It was directed by Guy Ritchie.
Thoughts on this report? Are you hoping that a third instalment in the Sherlock Holmes films is made?
Following the report last month that negotiations for Michael Keaton (Batman, Batman Returns, Spotlight, Birdman) joining the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming had fallen through, the film’s director Jon Watts has seemingly confirmed that Keaton has been cast after all.
