Marvel’s The Punisher series reportedly could be coming to Netflix sometime in 2017. The series will star Jon Bernthal in the title role, reprising the role of Frank Castle whom he originally brought to life in the second season of Marvel’s Daredevil.
The report stems from a new landing page on the Netflix mobile app. The page has the show’s title and a short synopsis which can be read below:
“After the murder of his family, Frank Castle is both haunted and hunted. In the criminal underworld, he’ll become known as The Punisher.”
Netflix has a history of only posting landing pages when a show is approximately a year away from release. If that pattern is still the case then it’s possible that Marvel’s The Punisher will be coming in 2017. No official release date, or even confirmation of a 2017 release, has been announced for the show however.
Thoughts on this report? Are you looking forward to Marvel’s The Punisher series?

Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is rumoured to be directing the two-episode musical crossover between The CW’s hit shows The Flash and Supergirl.
This wouldn’t be the first time Whedon has helmed a musical episode. He previously brought Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans the popular musical episode “Once More, With Feeling.”
The rumour surfaced from That Hashtag Show, the website that revealed the casting for Marvel’s Iron Fist series on Netflix earlier in the year. You can watch the video where they reveal this rumour below:
The hosts also claim that Music Meister will be the villain of the two-parter and speculate that Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, Gone Girl, Starship Troopers) might reprise the role of the character for the crossover. He previously voiced the character in the Batman: The Brave and the Bold animated series.
The crossover will take place on the thirteenth episode of both shows next season. It’s speculated that the episodes will air in February of next year.
The third season of The Flash will premiere on Tuesday, October 4th. The second season of Supergirl (the first to be aired on The CW) will premiere on Monday, October 17th.
Thoughts on this rumour? Would you like to see Joss Whedon direct the musical crossover episodes between The Flash and Supergirl?

The CW’s hit TV shows The Flash and Supergirl will be having another crossover soon. However, this crossover (not connected to the larger crossover also planned with Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) will be a two-part musical crossover episode starring former Glee cast members Grant Gustin (The Flash) and Melissa Benoist (Supergirl).
The announcement was made at the TCA presentation for The CW recently. The announcement opened their DC TV shows panel in a strong fashion. It was mentioned that the crossover will include one episode of both shows and that the bulk of the music used in the episode will be “pre-existing songs”. However, the crew also stated that they’re looking into writing one original song for each episode.
Executive producer Greg Berlanti said on the actors singing talents:
“So many times it’s a musical episode off the set. On all of the shows we like to use all of the actors’ talents.”
Berlanti also teased that there will “probably be an element of the songs being in the characters’ heads” rather than them being a significant plot point. He also hinted that he’d like to bring in some of the cast from Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow for a musical number as well.
The third season of The Flash will premiere on Tuesday, October 4th. The second season of Supergirl (the first to be aired on The CW) will premiere on Monday, October 17th.
Thoughts on this news? Are you excited or cautious about The Flash and Supergirl musical crossover?

The behind the scenes sizzle reel for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story released at Star Wars Celebration Europe last month excited many fans of the franchise. Since its release fans have been speculation about what may have been hidden among the footage. One such speculation was fans claiming that Senator Bail Organa appears at 1:04 in the reel (the slightly visible character just to the left of the camera as can be seen below).
Jimmy Smits, who played Bail Organa in Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005), recently appeared on the daytime talk show The Talk. The hosts brought up the topic of Star Wars (including showing him the above image) and asked him for more information. Smits responded:
“Can you say the word cameo? Can you say the words small part?”
You can watch this segment from the interview below:
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled for release on December 16th, 2016.
Thoughts on this news? Are you looking forward to seeing Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa again in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story?

Lucasfilm and Disney have announced that the third season of the Star Wars: Rebels animated series is slated to premiere on September 24th at 8:30PM ET/PT.
The full press transcript can be read below:
This news marks the third time that Star Wars: Rebels will be airing on a new day. The first season aired on Mondays and the second season aired on Wednesdays. The third season will air on the prime time slot on Saturdays which shows the growth of Rebels as one of the most popular currently airing children’s animated series and continues the pattern of Rebels airing a new season on a different day every year.
The premiere episode will be titled “Steps into Shadow” and is an hour-long special. This gives it the same time length as the premieres of the last two seasons (“Spark of Rebellion” and “Siege of Lothal”).
The official description for the episode can be read below:
“Having established a secret base on Atollon, the Ghost Crew, now led by a more powerful Ezra, strengthens the rebel fleet by acquiring new resources and recruits eager to stand against the Empire. However, the Imperial efforts to eliminate the rebellion are now being led by the coldly analytical Grand Admiral Thrawn, whose strategic, tactical and cultural insights make him a treat unlike any they have faced before. In season three, Ezra and Sabine take on new roles and challenges, as the rebels prepare for their biggest mission yet – a direct assault on the Empire.”

Riz Ahmed (Bodhi Rook) has revealed that the reshoots for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story have been completed.
The reshoots were surrounded by speculation when they were announced a few months ago with rumours indicating a bad situation going on behind the scenes. Subsequent reports later revealed that the reports were exaggerated and the reshoots (which took place last month) had been planned for a long time.
Ahmed had been asked by Yahoo about the reshoots in an interview. The conversation went as follows:
Yahoo: So how are the Rogue One reshoots coming on?
Ahmed: Yeah, they were great. But we’re all finished up on them now.
Yahoo: There’s been a lot of talk about them in the press. What’s been your take on this?
Ahmed: There’s been so much speculation, but it’s just because people care so much about Star Wars. Reshoots are par for the course on any film. For me, I kind of love it because, as an actor, you always feel that there was a way you could have done it differently. Being able to go back and do some stuff again is always a blessing in my eyes.
Tony Gilroy (the Bourne series) is said to be playing a large role in the post production of the film. Gilroy was originally hired for the reshoots to “offer notes on the first cut and write some additional material to enhance the story”. His role in the post production “is said to be “supervising” the edit with input from (director Gareth Edwards)”.
The report makes it clear that there’s no tension behind the scenes and that there is still a collaborative atmosphere. According to the source behind The Hollywood Reporter’s report, “There are not two separate editing rooms; they are all in there with their ideas. Tony’s a strong force, but they’re all working together.”
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled for release on December 16th, 2016.
