New Hasbro Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 3.75-inch Figure Pack Revealed

The Hollywood Reporter revealed a new set of Hasbro 3.75-inch action figures based on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to celebrate “Rogue Friday” yesterday.

The 3.75-inch four figure pack will include Jyn Erso, Saw Gerrera, Edrio Two Tubes and an Imperial Hovertank Pilot. The pack won’t be available until spring 2017, but it does reveal a very clear look at Saw Gerrera’s design in the film which is the first clear look aside from the Funko Pop! figure. It shows that the character (who is played by Oscar winner Forest Whitaker in the film) has a robotic leg and a blaster holstered to his side, showing that Saw has seen a lot of action since we were introduced to him as an animated character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled for release on December 16th.

Thoughts on this Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 3.75-inch four figure pack? Are you planning to buy it when it’s released next year?

Confirmed- Star Wars: The Clone Wars Character Bo-Katan to Appear in Star Wars: Rebels

Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, Longmire, Riddick) has revealed that she has reprised her role of Star Wars: The Clone Wars character Bo-Katan for Star Wars: Rebels. The actress revealed the news at the Oz Comic Con in Sydney, Australia. She told fans that she had already recorded her lines for an episode of the show. It’s unconfirmed whether the lines were for this season or (if the show goes beyond three seasons) if they were for a future season.

Star Wars fans were introduced to Bo-Katan as Pre Vizsla’s most trusted lieutenant in The Clone Wars. It’s possible that Bo-Katan will become an ally to Sabine Wren on Rebels considering that the latter comes from Clan Vizsla.

The third season of Star Wars: Rebels is currently airing every Saturday on Disney XD.

Thoughts on this news? Are you looking forward to seeing Bo-Katan in a future episode of Star Wars: Rebels?

Confirmed- Justin Ridge Replaces Dave Filoni as the Star Wars: Rebels Supervising Director

Justin Ridge (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Rebels) has replaced Dave Filoni as the supervising director of the on-going Star Wars: Rebels animated series. Filoni is still working on the show as an executive producer and continues to promote the show, however he will now be overseeing future animation development for Lucasfilm as well as continuing to direct episodes of Rebels from time to time.

Ridge is no stranger to working on Star Wars animation. He was previously an episodic director and storyboard artist on Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He directed the episodes “Rookies”, “The Gungan General”, “Innocents of Ryloth” and “Holocron Heist” for that show, and he was one of the first people to be brought on board to work on Rebels. Since joining the crew of Rebels he directed the Sabine Wren and Zeb Orrelios prelude short episodes “Art Attack” and “Entanglement” respectively, as well as the penultimate episode of the first season “Rebel Resolve”.

A statement from Lucasfilm says the following:

“Dave is still just as involved as ever – overseeing all aspects of Star Wars Rebels production as Executive Producer and occasionally directing episodes.  In many ways, mentoring Justin and moving him into the role as Supervising Director has made it possible for Dave to be even more immersed in the writing and story structure of the show as well as creatively overseeing future animation development. Justin started with Lucasfilm Animation on the first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and worked with Dave before that on Avatar: The Last Airbender, so they’ve been working together for quite some time.”

Filoni has held the title of supervising director on two Star Wars animated shows now- Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. It’s possible that the “future animation development” is the reason for his visit to the Episode VIII set earlier this year.

The third season of Star Wars: Rebels is currently airing every Saturday on Disney XD.

Thoughts on this news? Are you looking forward to finding out more about the projects Dave Filoni is working on?

Justice League- First Look at Batman’s Tactical Batsuit Revealed

Justice League director Zack Snyder has revealed a new look at Batman’s tactical Batsuit that will be seen in the film. The new look image is the first time we’ve seen Ben Affleck (who debuted as Batman earlier this year in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) in the new Batsuit.

The image shows Affleck’s Batman standing next to the Batmobile.

Costume designer Michael Wilkinson said to ComicBook.com on the suit:

“So in the final chapter of our film, Batman realizes he has to step up his game a little bit and he and Alfred have been working on developing a suit that’s even more protective and offers more deflection than the classic suit. So in a sense, it’s piece of armor.

So you can see the classic suit underneath, but on top are straps and layers of the carbon fiber, strengthening armor plates, he’s got sort of a leather layer upon here that he is strapping all over his plates onto the wrapping around his body and offering just a little more protection than the old. He’s also going to get a new cowl with some new tech details and that gives him even more protection. We’re going to do some goggles for him, a new tech cape made out of our carbon fiber weave.”

Wilkinson also teased that the goggles are there for a specific reason:

“We liked the way that they catch the light and give that classic image from the comic books. But he’ll also be piloting a new vehicle that he will need these goggles for.”

Justice League is currently filming and is scheduled for release on November 16th, 2017.

Thoughts on the tactical Batsuit? Are you looking forward to seeing Batman wearing it in the Justice League film?
