An official image by the CW revealed Tyler Hoechlin’s first appearance as Superman. Hoechlin joins the cast of Supergirl for the upcoming second season.
Fans may recognise Hoechlin for his roles in Teen Wolf and Road to Perdition. Superman was only featured in brief shots for previous episodes and it was nothing more than a blurry image or silhouette. Now Hoechlin will bring Kal-El/Clark Kent to life in television. His first appearance will be in the start of the new season as Superman visits National City to see his cousin, Kara.
The new costume is a great mix of both old and new with inspiration coming from Reign of Superman (mid-90’s), the New 52 version, 2011 redesign, and Injustice: Gods Among Us. Of course, the classic blue and red colour scheme remains with the beloved “S” present.
Hoechlin was interviewed at Comic-Con International in San Diego where comparisons were made between Henry Cavill’s portrayal and his own take on Superman.
No definite explanation has been given on why Superman is visiting National City. One can easily speculate it’s because of the mysterious Kryptonian escape pod crash-landing. This occurred on the outskirts of the city. Krypton was experiencing great turmoil with an uprising. The pod crashed near National City only hours within the uprising ending. After these events, the Kryptonian mind-control satellite no longer had an influence over Earth.
Kiersten Ronning is the creative mind behind the Superman costume. She is also the costume designer for Supergirl.
The second season of Supergirl will begin airing on Monday, October 10th. The second season airs on the CW.
What are your thoughts on Tyler Hoechlin playing Superman? Do you like the design of the suit?

Should there be a crawl at the start of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story? That is the question some have been asking themselves about the upcoming blockbuster. Well, we finally have our answer and it is from the people behind the upcoming Star Wars movie – President of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy and director Gareth Edwards.
Kennedy: “You know, we’re in the midst of talking about it, but I don’t think these films will have an opening crawl. I think that’s what we kind of telegraphed at the beginning of the event today.”
Edwards: “The thing that inspired this movie was a crawl and what was written in that. And this is feeling like if we have a crawl, it might create another movie!”
It looks likely, therefore, that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and other standalone films won’t have an opening crawl. This will help to differentiate them from the saga films.
Not every Star Wars media has had a crawl. Most of the Star Wars games have crawls. However, that is to make them closer to the main films. The Clone Wars had a version of the crawl, but its opening was different for the type of media it was and it felt different from the movies. Star Wars Rebels, on the other hand, doesn’t have acrawl or even an intro.

Pokémon Go Plus, a device that allows players of the popular mobile game to play without looking at their phones, has had its release delayed until September.
Nintendo announced the delay recently but provided no clear reason for the delay.

— Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) July 27, 2016
The device, which attaches to a player’s shirt lapel or clothing, connects to a phone via Bluetooth to allow people to hunt for and catch Pokemon and locate PokéStops without relying on their phone.
Nintendo announced the device at E3 back in June and had originally slated it for release last month.
Pokémon Go Plus is currently sold out for pre-order, but the delay may allow Nintendo to expand their manufacturing plans and release more copies.

After almost two years since its previous season, BBC’s Sherlock is returning for a fourth season in 2017. However, the show’s creator Stephen Moffat has hinted that this may be the show’s final series.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Moffat noted that he would be “moderately surprised” if this were the case, but that it “absolutely could be.” He went on to explain that this is because of the rising fame of the show’s lead two actors; Benedict Cumberbatch (who will soon be starring as the titular character in Marvel’s Doctor Strange) and Martin Freeman (who was the lead actor in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy) since the show’s first season in 2010. Moffat stated that the two, who play Holmes and his assistant Dr Watson respectively are returning “because they want to.”
The Emmy-nominated drama’s fourth season is currently in production with a 2017 release date. Moffat has been very quiet when revealing the plot but has hinted that this season would focus on the lesser known stories from Arthur Conan Doyle’s bibliography.

While its predecessors have always been different to other Marvel films, the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok is set to be different to other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Director Taika Waititi spoke about this difference in a recent interview with Polygon. He stated that there are “buddy elements” to the new film between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and that the script has changed multiple times since the film was announced.
Waititi told Polygonthat he wanted the movie to be “exciting and fun” and that it will be a film that “celebrates that group of misfits who are on the run.” This is referring to where both characters were left after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron which saw both characters leave the core group of Avengers to pursue their own adventures. Waititi also predicts this film to be “one of the biggest” films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Thor: Ragnarok will be released in cinemas on November 3rd, 2017.
