Looking for some entertainment or just need a laugh? We at the Everything Geek Podcast may be professionals (most of the time) but we’re subject to the giggles or a blooper sometimes just like everyone else. This video takes a look at some of these highlights in our three years so far and is sure to make you laugh.
You can listen to the highlights below:
Listen in as Máirín gets starstruck, Ruari gets confused with names, an odd moment at the start of Jack Klaff’s interview, an unexpected birthday song for Ruari leaves him flustered, our infamous toilet gag, Ruari and Lawron get hit on by a guest and Graham and Máirín literally try to “rap” up the podcast. Also, is Máirín trying to take over as the lead host from Ruari?
We hope you enjoy these funny moments! Let us know what you think in the comments and we’ll probably do more highlights of funny moments on the podcast sometime.

Our new Everything Geek Podcast intro is now online. You can listen to it below:
It will be featured at the start of all of our interviews from now on.
It’s similar to our previous intro but it’s shorter, uses more images and has a narration at the end before host Ruari Williamson (yours truly) speaks.
We hope you enjoy the new intro! Let us know what you think in the comments.

Today marked the three year anniversary of our Everything Geek Podcast. It still feels like yesterday that three of us (Graham, Dan and I) were sitting down to record our first podcast. A lot has changed with the podcast since then but the intentions are still the same. We started off wanting to bring content we thought fellow geeks would enjoy including guest interviews from your favourite films, TV shows etc. and three years on we’re still doing that (more regularly than when we started).
On a more personal level, I decided to set up the podcast originally for two main reasons. The reasons were:
I saw that there were a lot of podcasts out there focusing on one franchise but very few (at the time) that focused on numerous films, TV shows and anything else in the geek community. I myself was part of a Star Wars podcast at the time and I knew how many other Star Wars podcasts were out there as well.
I’ve always enjoyed challenging myself and I thought that creating a geek podcast would be a great challenge for me. I had no idea how much starting up this podcast would change my life. The thing I can say though is that I continue to be challenged and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Amazing Spider-Man actor Leif Gantvoort was the first guest we interviewed on that first episode of the podcast. Since then we’ve branched out into interviewing guests from many different themes and we’ll continue to do so in order to appeal to all of the fans that we can. We’re only halfway through the year and I already think this has been one of our best years for guests so far. Some of the highlight guests so far this year include Captain America’s Crossbones actor Frank Grillo, former The Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazarra, Gotham star Cory Michael Smith, the man behind Colossus in the Deadpool movie Stefan Kapicic and Pokémon star Haven Paschall. Guests like these show that we’re starting to get more and more bigger names on the podcasts and we expect that this is a trend that will continue the longer we go on.
Also on the guests front- we’ll be working more with networks (and other companies) to help bring you more interviews that you’ll want to hear. We recently worked with Fox to book the interview with Cory Michael Smith and we’re working with DreamWorks to arrange our interview with Dragons: Race to the Edge showrunners Douglas Sloan and Art Edler Brown (announced as part of our three year anniversary celebrations).
We’re only halfway through the year and we’ve already had lots of great guests on the podcast this year. It makes you wonder who will be joining us before the end of the year. Only time will tell. I can tell you that we’re already in talks with a couple of very exciting guests for next year though.
Looking forward in terms of other content: We’re completely dedicated to posting news articles, reviews etc. However, as we’re a podcast our priority is obviously to promote our content (like the interviews which we do frequently) but we do our best to stay on top of the news. I haven’t been on top of things recently because I keep trying to bring in articles from the past (weeks or months ago) that I think would be good to discuss. From now on I’m just going to focus on articles as they come in or during the week so I don’t keep looking backwards. Doing this will also give me more time to work on other material for the podcast. This method might mean we lose out on discussing important topics from earlier in the year but I think it’s necessary that we stay in the moment as we go forward.
One of the things I’m looking forward to posting soon is the articles from featured cosplayers who will be acting as guest contributors on the website. This is something I’m looking forward to as well because I think that there isn’t enough focus on websites like ours about what goes into a cosplay so I’m looking forward to learning more from our guest contributors as much as you are.
We’re also planning to start video-game walkthroughs and recordings of our Everything Geek Comic Cast companion podcast very soon. In addition to the merchandise reviews on our YouTube channel we’ll be starting reviews of comics on the channel (in addition to other types of reviews on the channel potentially).
I hope you’ve enjoyed our three year anniversary celebrations and all of the content we’ve posted today. We’ve grown a lot since our anniversary celebrations last year and hopefully we’ll be a lot bigger by this time next year as well.
Let me know what your suggestions are for the future of the podcast and the website.
Your founder,
Ruari Williamson

We’re officially celebrating three years of the Everything Geek Podcast tomorrow.
Here’s a list of what we’ll be doing to celebrate this milestone tomorrow:
Our three year celebrations will begin with a very exciting guest announcement. This interview will be very different and will give us an opportunity to do a different type of interview (a first for us) that we’re looking forward to doing. More details on this may be posted later.
We’ll be broadcasting our highly anticipated interview with actress Haven Paschall (the voice of Serena in Pokémon). Details on the time it will be taking place will be posted later.
We’ll be uploading seven new interviews to our YouTube channel: Nika Futterman (voice of Asajj Ventress in Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Steve Coulter (Reg Monroe in The Walking Dead), Neil Bishop (a First Order Flametrooper, a First Order Snowtrooper and a First Order Stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Rony Bridges (a Starkiller Base Admiral in Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Brett Stanfield (one of Superman’s Soldiers and a Metropolis Paramedic in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Kent Wagner (a Walker and a Dying Man in The Walking Dead) and Kate Bristol (voice of Jessica, Astrid and Princess Allie in Pokémon).
A video we’ve put together of numerous funny moments/bloopers on the podcast.
Debuting a new intro and outro for the interviews when they go up on our YouTube channel.
A speech length post from yours truly during the celebration tomorrow (I seem to end up doing these on milestone days).
We recorded the first episode of our Everything Geek Podcast on June 15th 2013. That day we interviewed our first guest (Leif Gantvoort from The Amazing Spider-Man) and discussed a number of topics including Spider-Man, Call of Duty, Halo and other video-games. Since then we’ve continued to interview guests and branched out into discussing lots more topics.
This will be a great opportunity for anyone to listen back to some of the podcasts we’ve uploaded before (or a chance to give us a listen for the first time).
Come Saturday we’ll also be celebrating our 150th full episode. Be sure to tune in for what is bound to be an excellent podcast this Saturday.
