Shooting on Marvel Studios’ upcoming Doctor Strange film has officially wrapped up.
The announcement was made by director Scott Derrickson on Twitter. He tweeted a (rather appropriate) picture of him holding a Doctor Strange comic to go with the announcement. The picture can be viewed below:
Filming on Doctor Strange began back in November 2015 in Nepal. After a week of filming there, the production went to London and filming took place there for approximately five months. Filming wrapped up in New York City this past weekend.
The Doctor Strange movie is scheduled for release on November 4th, 2016.

Following rumours that started at last years’ San Diego Comic-Con of Ben Affleck starring in his own Batman solo film, it has been confirmed that Affleck (who starred as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the recently released Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) has written a script for a Batman movie.
The news came from William Morris Endeavor’s Co-CEO Patrick Whitesell. He is quoted as saying the following:
“He’s contracted to do at least Justice League 1 and 2, so at least three times wearing the cape. There’s a script that he’s written that’s a really cool [Batman] idea, so that’s out there as an option.”
Could this be the project Affleck and Geoff Johns (the DC Entertainment CCO) confirmed they’re working on together?

Sony Pictures are reportedly reviving their planned Spider-Man spinoff Venom movie.
Dante Harper (writer of the original draft for Edge of Tomorrow) has reportedly signed on to write the screenplay. Avi Arad (Spider-Man trilogy, The Amazing Spider-Man) and Matt Tolmach (The Amazing Spider-Man) have signed on as producers. Sony are hoping to turn Venom into a franchise that stands alone from the upcoming Spider-Man film. It’s unknown which Venom will be used in the movie.
Sony Pictures have previously tried multiple times to get a Venom movie developed. It’s unlikely that Marvel Studios will have any participation in this movie.
For anyone unfamiliar with the character, a description of Venom from the comics can be read below:
“Venom has it’s roots back in 1988 as a character created by David Micheline, Mike Zeck & Todd McFarlane. Often viewed as a villain, Venom has been seen as an anti-hero as of late and most recently, a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Ray Fisher’s Cyborg will reportedly be showing up in DC’s upcoming The Flash movie, starring Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, We Need to Talk About Kevin).
Executive producer Deborah Snyder is quoted as saying the following:
“David Ayer’s Suicide Squad has such an amazing, brash tone. It’s fun and it’s about the villains, and it’s super-different than Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, which is an origin story and tells her story. As you can imagine, when we get to the Flash movie, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher — who plays Cyborg — are kind of our youngest characters, and they have a really nice comradery with each other. Ezra is super funny, so the tone of that film will be very different than the rest of them.”
The Flash movie will be released on March 23rd, 2018.

Echo Kellum (Curtis Holt/Mister Terrific) has been promoted to a main cast member for the fifth season of The CW’s popular Arrow series, which will begin airing later this year.
Kellum joined the cast in a recurring role at the start of the fourth season.

Warner Bros. and Lego are teaming up again this year for LEGO DC Comics Superheroes: Justice League: Gotham City Breakout. It’s the latest full-length animated feature film using the Lego versions of DC Comics heroes.
The film will focus on Batman, giving DC fans a Lego Batman movie to enjoy in the comfort of their own home before the release of The Lego Batman Movie next year.
You can watch the trailer below:
A description of the film from WB Animation can be read below:
“Fighting crime is a full-time job and Batman NEVER takes a vacation. That is until he finally agrees to let Batgirl and Nightwing take him on a long overdue trip – leaving Gotham City under the watchful eye of the Justice League in LEGO® DC Comics Super Heroes – Justice League: Gotham City Breakout.
When Batgirl and Nightwing take Batman on a trip down memory lane – literally – to visit one of the key mentors from his formative years, it’s up to the Justice League to keep Gotham City crime-free. But neither situation proves to be a “vacation” as the Bat trio encounters old nemeses on their adventure, and the Justice League discovers just how busy Batman is on a regular basis. It’s a brick-tastic battle on two fronts as Batman, Batgirl and Nightwing take on Bane and Deathstroke, while the Justice League – with some help from a few Teen Titans – fends off an assault by many of Batman’s infamous adversaries to ensure Gotham City’s safety.”
An official release date is yet to be announced. Sam Register executive produces the film, with supervising producer Brandon Vietti and a script by Jim Krieg. Troy Baker, Nolan North, and Khary Payton all return to the voice cast, with Sarah Hyland lending her voice, as well.

The finale episode in the sixth season of AMC’s The Walking Dead introduced viewers to comic series villain Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan). However, one aspect of the character was left out from his comic counterpart- his constant use of the f-bomb.
AMC censored the profanity filmed for the TV broadcast, but it has been confirmed that Negan’s dialogue will be uncensored on the Blu-ray release of The Walking Dead’s sixth season.
You’ll be able to hear Negan’s f-bombs in all of their glory later this year.
Thoughts on this news? Are you looking forward to seeing the uncensored version of the The Walking Dead Season 6 finale?
Following the dark end to The Walking Dead’s sixth season, it looks like the next season won’t let up on the gore. The seventh season will reportedly start off very dark as well.
Showrunner Scott Gimple is quoted as saying the following:
“The world opened up this half season and opened up to some dark places. In the next half season, the world is gonna open up even more and we are going to have a wide variety of locales and a wide variety of tone and of character. I’m very excited for all of the different stories that are going to be told. There will be a lot of different stories told.
There’s going to be the biggest variety of stories we’ve had yet. Things are, of course, I can say without spoiling anything – things are going to start off very, very, very dark because everybody knows where we’re starting. But that won’t be the whole season. It’s not going to be darkness upon darkness upon darkness. I’m very excited for all of the individual characters’ journeys except for the way we start which will be awful.”
The seventh season of The Walking Dead will begin airing later this year.
