The Blu-ray release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is upon us. Having already been released in the US, fans on our side of the pond will be able to bring the film home a few days from now on April 18th.
One of the notable bonus contents, like with the majority of films, is the deleted scenes. Seven deleted scenes are available on the Blu-ray release, but director J.J. Abrams believes that more deleted scenes are on the way.
Collider talked to Abrams and Simon Pegg (Unkar Plutt) on the red carpet at CinemaCon. Below is the conversation about the deleted scenes:
J.J. ABRAMS: I think there are going to be some more that are going to be available online, but I don’t know when that’s going to happen. But there are some others.
SIMON PEGG: Most of them feature me, funnily enough. There’s a whole story featuring Unkar. Like him opening his shop—
ABRAMS: There is, actually.
COLLIDER: Did Disney say “We’re going to have an ultimate box set and we want to save five minutes for that box set after Episode 9?”
ABRAMS: No, Disney’s been amazing. There’s been no nefarious or weird, “Let’s hold things back for the fans,” but there will be other deleted scenes that will be available for those who wish to see them.
Abrams suggested that some of the deleted scenes may be released online, while some fans have speculated that some could appear on the 3D Blu-ray release later this year.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on Blu-ray in the UK/Ireland on April 18th.
Thoughts on this report? Are you hopeful that more deleted scenes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released in the future?
Original trilogy characters Lando Calrissian and Dengar will soon be playable on Star Wars: Battlefront, EA announced earlier this week.
Lando and Dengar will be included in the second Battlefront expansion pack, Bespin, coming in June. Players will be able to battle on Cloud City as Lando (Rebel Alliance) or Dengar (Galactic Empire).
Battlefront producer Craig McLeod made the announcement on EA’s official Star Wars website. He also revealed other details on the Bespin expansion pack which can be read below:
“This June, Season Pass holders will also receive our second digital expansion pack, Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Bespin. We’re taking players in and around Cloud City, with four new maps for all of our most popular modes. You’ll see AT-ATs in Cloud City, take to the skies in Fighter Squadron, and even spend time in a carbonite chamber. Of course, we’re also adding more blasters and Star Cards, a new game mode, and two new iconic characters we’re really excited about – Lando Calrissian and the cold-blooded bounty hunter, Dengar.”
Two more heroes will be included in the Death Star expansion pack (coming in the Autumn), in addition to another two in the fourth expansion pack- coming in Spring 2017. McLeod also teased that Star Wars Day (May 4th) will have some special in-game content that they are currently preparing.

Classic villain The Vulture is rumoured to appearing in the new Spider-Man reboot.
The rumour states the following:
“The Vulture will be in this movie. Will he be the main baddie? Will he be a villain Spidey has to defeat in an opening scene? I don’t know, although old rumors that passed by my ears indicated a non-main villain role for the old bird.”
Sam Raimi, the director of the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire, had wanted to include The Vulture in one of his films. However, Sony Pictures preferred to use more modern villains like Venom instead of classic Spider-Man foes.
The next Spider-Man film is scheduled for release on July 7th, 2017.
Thoughts on this rumour? Would you like to see The Vulture appear in a Spider-Man film?
