Star Wars- The Force Awakens Blu-ray will Reportedly Have Seven Deleted Scenes

EGP Website Article Image 1299

The Blu-ray release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens will reportedly have seven deleted scenes.

The Force Awakens editors Mary Jo Markey and Maryann Brandon are quoted as saying the following to The Independent:

“We have been talking about [the deleted scenes],” Brandon began. “But Disney has mentioned to us that – since they’re going to be on the DVD treats for viewers – that we should stop talking about them.”

When pressed a little further, the Oscar-nominee said: “There aren’t a lot. There’s one with Harrison Ford, there’s one with Rey, but there aren’t a lot.

“I think there are maybe seven or eight,” added Markey. “I don’t know if that’s a lot. I remember looking at the reel. Actually, I think there are seven.”

In addition, Brandon spoke about why certain scenes were deleted. He said:

“JJ [Abrams, director] really wanted it to be a two-hour movie, and we did strive to do that. But then, at a certain point, we felt like the film is really working for the very few people that we were able to show it to. So we went back to see if we should add any of the things we left off, and there really wasn’t anything that felt like it needed to be in the film. That’s always the goal, to get it down to its essence. There were fun things, but it didn’t actually have to be in the movie for it to work.”

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is rumoured to be hitting Blu-ray on April 5th.

EGP Website Article Image 1296EGP Website Article Image 1297

Rey (with BB-8 as an additional pack-in figure) was one of the first figures from Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Hasbro’s The Black Series 6-inch line. However, since that wave no new 6-inch Rey figures have been revealed… until now.

Kmart have revealed that they will have an exclusive Rey (“Starkiller Base”) figure available this year. The figure will go well with the previously released 6-inch figure Kylo Ren (“Starkiller Base”)- also a Kmart exclusive.

Details on the figure can be read below:

  • Detailed 6-inch figure looks like Rey from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”
  • Includes signature blaster, lightsaber, and display stand
  • 28 points of articulation
  • Expand and enhance Star Wars collections
  • Includes figure, 2 accessories, and display stand

The moment where Rey catches the Skywalker Lightsaber is one of the most iconic moments from The Force Awakens so it will be great to recreate that.

No exact release date for the figure has been announced.
