During the recent Dawn of the Justice League special (aired on The CW) it was confirmed that the Green Lantern Corps will be joining the Justice League Cinematic Universe.
A featurette was released on the Green Lantern Corps. You can watch it below:
It has also been confirmed that the Green Lantern Corps will feature in the Justice League movies.
DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns is quoted as saying the following:
“We’ve been to the bottom of the ocean. We’ve been to ancient Greek mythology, we’ve been to the past and future with the Flash, we’ve been to the digital world with Cyborg. We still got to go to space. So the Green Lanterns and the Green Lantern Corps are coming to join the Justice League universe.”
A Green Lantern Corps movie is expected on June 19th, 2020.

Disney and Lucasfilm revealed ahead of production on Star Wars: The Force Awakens that it would feel “old school” with a focus on practical effects and using film (which director J.J. Abrams felt very strongly about as well). Following his success with 2015’s Jurassic World, Colin Trevorrow has been tasked with directing Episode IX and he’s determined to keep this focus.
Trevorrow is quoted as saying the following:
” I could never shoot Star Wars on anything but [film] because it’s a period film: It happened a long time ago!”
He also mentioned his desire to shoot scenes in space by saying:
“I asked the question, ‘Is it possible for us to shoot IMAX film plates in actual space for Star Wars, and I haven’t gotten an answer yet, but they’ve shot IMAX in space!”
Star Wars Episode IX is scheduled for release sometime in 2019.

Rumoured details on Forest Whitaker’s (The Shield, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, The Last King of Scotland, The Butler, Taken 3) character in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story have made their way online.
*This is only a rumour and may or may not be accurate. However, if you’re looking to avoid any details regarding Rogue One this is your official SPOILER alert warning.*

……….
The rumoured details read as follows:
Forest Whitaker’s character uses a cane.
It appears he has one leg and uses a cane as a crutch to walk.
He appears to be a veteran of some battles, but it isn’t clear if he lost his leg fighting in the Clone Wars or against the Empire.
Based on a differentiated code name from the rest of the rebels in the movie, it appears he is likely good but maybe a bounty hunter affiliated type (more on this later).
He seems to be a “good guy” in Rogue One.
He has a cape and his costume is a hodgepodge of different things (think of someone you might see at Maz’s castle).
Earlier reports made it seem like he might have one leg but the clarification on the topic is a “robot leg.”
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled for release on December 16th, 2016.
Thoughts on these rumoured details? Are you excited to see Forest Whitaker’s character in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story?
While little is known about the characters or anything else in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, new rumoured details on the characters have made their way online.
*This is only a rumour and may or may not be accurate. However, if you’re looking to avoid any details regarding Rogue One this is your official SPOILER alert warning.*

……….
The rumoured details read as follows:
“Apparently there’s a sequence in the film where Felicity Jones and Diego Luna go into disguise. It sounds a little like A New Hope, right? There’s a slight difference; they’re not Stormtroopers.
In the film she dresses up as a Imperial Gunner. Diego Luna’s character doesn’t, instead he goes for a higher commanding station and dresses up as an Imperial Commander. It sounds a little like some A New Hope hijinks in a way. With the more serious nature of this film, I do wonder if it will be a bit more tactical than sneaking around a battle station. Gareth Edwards did make it abundantly clear to us at Celebration that A New Hope is his favorite Star Wars film.
Alan Tudyk’s character has been described to me as a more than a droid. He’s a commando droid and he looks really cool. Details are being withheld for now and I wish I knew more about him.
Here is a little on the codenames for various factions and what they might tell us about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story:
Felicity Jones’ character is codenamed Green Seal Leader by the production.
Seal Communicator Blue is Jiang Wen’s character (the guy with the red armor on behind Donnie Yen in the cast photo).
Eel Commander is Forest Whitaker’s character. This faction destination has led me to speculate he’s a bounty hunter affiliated character.
Seal Droid is Alan Tudyk’s character.
The bad guys have codenames related to sharks.
The factions when coded amount to seals, eels, and sharks.
There is a bad guy or person of some importance to the Empire. His main feature is a huge majestic white cape with a slit in the back. In the film there is a beautiful shot of this Imperial treading through a shallow body of water with said cape trailing him. The figure that wears it appears to be an older male. I’m told he has a badass sidearm and a really cool name. We’re fairly certain this is Ben Mendelshon’s character but that’s not 100% or verified at this time.
Another shot shows him walking through legions of Stormtroopers and other Imperials. The shot was described as harkening back to the shots in Return of the Jedi where Darth Vader and the Emperor meet. Supposedly the cape looks really neat and is rather impressive.
It isn’t Mads Mikkelsen by the sound of things. Mikkelsen wears earth tones in terms of his costume. There’s a shot of him in an impressive golden colored field. So by the sound of things, he isn’t the guy in the white cape unless he loses it later on in the film or something like that. But hey, we can at least place him in a setting now.”
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled for release on December 16th, 2016.

Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) has teased that the sixth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones series is the biggest season yet.
Considering how rough Sansa had it in Season 5 it’ll be interesting to see if things improve for her. Turner is quoted as saying the following:
“I mean this season is a really, really big one for Sansa. It’s probably her best season yet. It’s her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good.”
Of particular note for fans of George R.R. Martin’s books is the confirmation that a Sansa story-line from the books will be used this season. Turner said the following on the storyline:
“It was amazing because the past five seasons, it feels like it’s been building up and up to that. You can only suffer so much before she finally gets her, the respect that she deserves.”
In summary, Turner believes this is the biggest season because of all of the character development that will be taking place throughout the season.
Game of Thrones Season 6 will premier on April 24th, 2016.
Thoughts on what Sophie said? Are you excited for the sixth season of Game of Thrones?

Since the re-branding of the Expanded Universe (books, comics, video-games etc.) into “Legends”, Star Wars fans have been waiting to see if any big elements from “Legends” would be brought into the official Star Wars Universe- but so far the promised elements have only been small references in the canon books.
However, a new rumour suggests that that is about to change in a big way.
A fan-favourite “Legends” character is rumoured to be appearing in the third season of the Star Wars: Rebels animated series.

The rumour suggests that Grand Admiral Thrawn will be appearing in Star Wars: Rebels Season 3.
The rumour suggests the following details:
“From the sound of things, we’re going to see Thrawn as the tactical genius of capital starship warfare he was to Expanded Universe readers in the ’90s. However, this time he will be using his evil brand of genius against the the heroes of the starship Ghost.
The future of Star Wars Rebels will also feature Ezra with a short haircut and a lightsaber similar to Obi-Wan’s/Luke’s second saber. It sounds like the timeline moves a lot closer to A New Hope and Ezra’s design will reflect that.”
For anyone who is unfamiliar with Thrawn, a short description of his character in the books is below:
“The famous Imperial officer first appeared in Timothy Zahn’s novel Star Wars: Heir to the Empire in 1991. He was a tactical genius and rare instance of an alien rising through the ranks of the Empire.”
Thoughts on this rumour? Would you like to see this character appear in Star Wars: Rebels?
