A new photo from DC’s upcoming Suicide Squad movie has been released, directed by David Ayer (Fury).
The photo features Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie, from left), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Deadshot (Will Smith) and Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney).
Ayer is quoted as saying the following on the characters:
“We all need good guys and everything — yay, good guys — but at the end of the day, they’re kinda boring. They’re always going to do the right thing. When you’re dealing with the baddies, it’s easy to get ahead of the audience and invert expectations.”
The Suicide Squad movie is scheduled for release on August 5th, 2016.

Director J.J. Abrams has confirmed the recently released Star Wars: The Force Awakens will not have an extended cut when it’s released on DVD/Blu-ray.
Abrams is quoted as saying the following on this and the length of the longest cut of the film:
“There will be deleted scenes, but not an extended version. Probably, if it were with credits, close to two hours and 50 minutes was the first cut.”
The question had been raised as fans were hoping for deleted scenes (including shots that were in the trailers) to be edited back in for an extended or directors cut of The Force Awakens.
Abrams also spoke about Star Wars Episode VIII (which is being directed by Rian Johnson). Abrams had the following to say on the second instalment of the Sequel Trilogy:
“It’s not my movie to talk about, but I will say that Rian’s an amazing writer and director. I’m obviously really excited about what he’s going to do.”

Star Wars: Rebels will be continuing its second season on January 20th with an episode titled “A Princess on Lothal”, as previously reported.
The episode will feature the debut of Princess Leia Organa on Rebels, making her the latest character from the films to appear in the show. She is voiced by Julie Dolan (Detention, Beverly Hills Cop III, Star Wars: Uprising).
You can watch a clip from the episode here:
Executive producer Dave Filoni had the following to say on bringing Leia into the show:
“We thought we had an opportunity to show her learning to be a leader, experimenting with the personality that becomes the stronger more resolute character you see in A New Hope. One of the complex challenges of depicting Leia in Rebels is that we have to remind the audience that at this point she is part of the Empire. She doesn’t believe in the Empire, but she is acting the part, almost a double agent.”
Star Wars: Rebels is set to return on January 20th.

Following Daisy Ridley (Rey’s) comments last month that the script for Star Wars Episode VIII is “very good”, John Boyega (Finn) has also commented on the script.
Boyega has stated that the script for Episode VIII is “much darker” than the script for last years’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Boyega is quoted as saying the following:
“It’s great. Much darker, but we’re very excited.”
Star Wars Episode VIII is scheduled for release on May 26th, 2017. The film (directed by Rian Johnson) is set to begin official filming later this month.
Thoughts on what John said? Are you excited for Star Wars Episode VIII?
We’re almost halfway through the first month of 2016 already, but new collectibles from the highly-praised Star Wars: The Force Awakens continue to be revealed- in particular from Hasbro’s Saga Legends line of action figures.
