Getting back to our guest announcements, we’ve got two very exciting guests that we’ll be announcing tomorrow!
As I said before, we were hoping to branch out into another new theme before the end of the year. The first guest is a cast member on Da Vinci’s Demons who joined the cast in the third season of the show.
The second guest is a director who has mainly worked in low budget or short films- but has won numerous awards for his work.
Both guests are represented by the same publicist. We’ve worked with this publicist before and we’re delighted to be working with him again.
I’m looking forward to revealing who both of these guests are!
Marvel’s latest series, Jessica Jones, was released on Netflix and has already been garnering mostly positive reviews, but what some fans may be unaware of is that the Jessica Jones series was being developed for ABC five years ago by showrunner Melissa Rosenberg.
However, it didn’t gain interest and eventually Marvel and Netflix struck a dream- which was good news for Jessica Jones fans as the series was perfect for the streaming site.
Unfortunately, the change also meant Rosenberg wasn’t able to use all of the characters she wanted, specifically Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. Rosenberg is quoted as saying the following on cutting Captain Marvel out of Jessica Jones:
“Back when it was at ABC Network, I did use Carol Danvers. But between then and when it ended up on Netflix, you know, the MCU shifted, and it also shifted away from the universe in the [comic] book. So in the book, the powers are very out in the open and the themes of that are about ‘the other,’ and in the cinematic universe that’s not the mythology. So there was a lot that I had to move away from, just in terms of sheer plot, and Carol Danvers got her own movie.”
Instead, the character Patsy Walker swapped places with Danvers. Rosenberg had the following to say on this change:
“But as it turned out, Patsy Walker ended up being an incredibly—a much more appropriate fit with Jessica. It was better that her best friend was not someone with powers. It actually ends up being a really great mirror for her.”
Thoughts on this news? Would you liked to have seen Captain Marvel appear in the Jessica Jones series?
Gwendoline Christie’s character Captain Phasma is already being regarded as the Boba Fett of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, meaning she has a great design but is only likely to have a few scenes.

Despite recent rumours that suggested Marvel’s Iron Fist (the last of four solo series currently announced for Netflix) could be getting scrapped, Marvel CCO Joe Quesada has confirmed the show is still in the works.
Quesada is quoted as saying the following:
“Iron Fist is being worked on. That’s all that I can say.”
The Defenders will still consist of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist as originally planned (with The Defenders itself as a fifth series scheduled for the future on Netflix).
