Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler) is reportedly dropping out as the director of the Gambit film.
The reason for this is because filming on Gambit has been pushed back from November to March, which it turns out clashes with another project he is working on. No word on what that project is has been revealed at this time.
Wyatt had the following to say:
“I was very much looking forward to working with my friend Channing and the team at Fox, but regrettably a push in the start date now conflicts with another project. I thank them for the opportunity, and I know that Gambit will make a terrific film.”
The Gambit film is scheduled for release on October 7th, 2016. However, with filming starting so late it’s possible the release date will be pushed back.
Thoughts on this report? Are you disappointed that Rupert Wyatt will no longer be directing the Gambit film?

A new rumour suggests that actor Jimmy Vee (Doctor Who, The Sarah Jane Adventures, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone) will be taking over the role of R2-D2 in Star Wars Episode VIII.
With R2-D2 actor Kenny Baker turning 81 years old last month, it’s entirely possible that the crew of Episode VIII had to look for someone to replace Baker if he wasn’t up to doing Episode VIII (or he wasn’t up to travelling to Skellig Michael so Vee could have just been filling in for the scenes filmed on the island). Also, Vee is the same height (3’ 8”) as Baker so it’s entirely plausible.
The Irish Examiner released a photo showing Jimmy Vee on the docks of Skellig Michael after filming had finished on the island. You can see the photo below.
Star Wars Episode VIII will officially be released on May 26th, 2017.
Thoughts on this rumour? Would you be disappointed if Kenny Baker no longer plays R2-D2?

DC’s slate of upcoming films is very impressive, but arguably none more so than the opportunity to finally see the Justice League on the big screen (with a film that will be released in two parts). If you’ve been wondering who the villain opposing the Justice League will be a new rumour has suggested who it may be.
Braniac is rumoured to be the villain of the Justice League film. He had recently been rumoured as the villain of a potential Man of Steel sequel, but considering recent reports that Man of Steel sequels are on hold it would make sense if Braniac was used in the Justice League film instead.
The first part of the Justice League film will be released on November 12th, 2017, followed by the second part on June 14th, 2019.
Thoughts on this rumour? Would you like to see Braniac as the villain of the Justice League film?

Ever since The Last of Us was released back in 2013 and became instantly popular, fans have wondered if we can expect a sequel to the game. Now it looks like we have our answer through an accidental slip-up by a Naughty Dogs employee…
In a livestream featuring community strategist Eric Monacelli, writer Josh Scherr, and lead animator Eric Baldwin, Scherr made the slip-up when talking about Eric’s work on facial animation. Scherr said the following:
“All of the facial animation in the Uncharted series was led up by Eric here, and on the first The Last of Us… Uh, did I say the first The Last of Us? The first Last of Us. The Last of Us. The first Last of Us. The Last of Us was also keyframe animation.”
If that’s not an accidental confirmation I don’t know what is, but there have been numerous rumours suggesting a sequel for a while so it’s good to hear some form of confirmation (until Naughty Dog officially announces the game).
Thoughts on this report? Would you play a sequel to The Last of Us?
