We know that production on Ridley Scott’s second Prometheus film will begin in February, but now the director has revealed that he’s looking to make three more (including the second one).
Scott had the following to say:
“It won’t be in the next one. It will be in the one after this one or maybe even a fourth film before we get back into the Alien franchise. The whole point of it is to explain the Alien franchise and to explain the how and why of the creation of the Alien itself. I always thought of the Alien as kind of a piece of bacterial warfare. I always thought that that original ship, which I call the Croissant, was a battleship, holding these biomechanoid creatures that were all about destruction.”
This is very interesting as Jon Spaihts’ original script for the first Prometheus was a direct prequel to Alien, but it looks we’ll now be waiting a while in the Prometheus series for big connections to Alien.
Prometheus 2 begins filming in February, 2016.
Thoughts on what Ridley said? Are you excited about the prospect of three more Prometheus films?

The Amazing Spider-Man series of films may have been canned halfway through, but rumours indicated that the spin-off films (which consisted of at least a Sinister Six, Venom and a female-led film) could still go ahead. A new report has indicated that this is indeed possible.
The report included an interview with filmmaker Drew Goddard who had the following to say:
“My vision of that movie was a summer annual. So you didn’t have to worry about continuity. It was just, ‘We take Peter, put him on an adventure, we put him back in his life.’ I intentionally wanted a movie that didn’t have to worry about mythology and continuity. It was important to me to make a movie that could stand on its own. So the good news is, you know, it slots in very well to any plan anybody ever wants. We just need to let a couple years go by, I think.”
The Sinister Six film was originally scheduled for a release on November 11th, 2016. However, if it does go ahead now it definitely won’t be for a few years at least.
Thoughts on this report? Would you like the Sinister Six film to go ahead?

Gotham has shown us the origins of many popular characters from the Batman universe, and now showrunner Bruno Heller has confirmed that they’ll be tackling the Court of Owls at some point.
Heller said the following on the Court of Owls to Comicbook.com, and whether it’s something he was always hoping to include in the show:
“Yeah, absolutely. I won’t say that it’s part of – I don’t even want to say that, because I don’t want to spoil part of the story. Court of Owls is deep, deep, deep Gotham mythology. The comic book fans know about it, but I would suspect the larger audience is not so familiar. We sometimes have to make a distinction between the ‘Nolan-era Batman movie fans’ and the comic book fans. It’s not that they’re two separate audiences, just that there are two levels of engagement. Court of Owls is very much deep DC mythology.
We are absolutely going to explore that world down the line. Looking at the longevity of the show, we have to hold some cards back, we can’t just throw all of the elements, all of the story at once. The long arc of the show is Bruce Wayne’s journey of discovery down into the depths of the physical and meta-physical world of Gotham. The Court of Owls is a brilliant conceit that will absolutely be part of our storytelling. I just won’t tell you when.”
It’s speculated that new characters Theo and Tabitha Galavan have a connection to the Court of Owls.
Thoughts on this news? Are you looking forward to seeing the Court of Owls in Gotham?

Simon Kinberg has been involved in the X-Men films since X-Men: The Last Stand, but it’s the recent X-Men films that were more successful for him- X-Men: First Class and last year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, Kinberg believes next year’s film X-Men: Apocalypse will be even bigger then the most recent than the two recent additions to the series.
Kinberg said the following on next year’s film:
“It’s a bigger movie in both physical scale and I would say emotional stakes too because it is the culmination of this mini trilogy of stories.” While using the word culmination, Kinberg also confirms that X-Men: Apocalypse ends the story that begun in X-Men: First Class, though both cast members James McAvoy (Charles Xavier) and Michael Fassbender (Erik Lehnsherr) are signed on for X-Men films beyond Apocalypse.
X-Men: Apocalypse will officially be released on May 27th, 2016.
Thoughts on what Simon said? What are you most looking forward to in X-Men: Apocalypse?

After the tremendous success of Jurassic World this year, fans have been wanting details on the sequel which has already been announced for release on June 22nd, 2018. Colin Trevorrow, who will only be writing and not directing, has provided the first hints on the sequel.
Trevorrow said the following on the sequel to the Jurassic Cast Podcast:
“I looked at it as a trilogy from the beginning, we designed the whole thing that way. The second one, Jurassic World 2, and as we were driving we tried to find, what is the foundation? ‘Dinosaurs and man, separated by 65 million years of evolution have been thrown back into the mix together. How can we know what to expect?’ That’s why it’s exciting that the movie did well, that leaves us a lot of room to run, and it was part of this design, it had a beginning, middle, and end when we wrote the first movie. Now that the movie did well, we get to play that out. It will get to be a different kind of film.”
Jurassic World’s sequel will officially be released on June 22nd, 2018.
