Rogue may be a love interest of Gambit’s in the comics, but unless she is played by a new actress she will not feature in his solo film.

Actress Anna Paquin, who has played Rogue in four X-Men films (X-Men, X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand and last years X-Men: Days of Future Past), confirmed that she will definitely not be appearing in the film.

While it’s possible Rogue could still appear, a different actress would need to be cast. Considering the history that Gambit and Rogue have in the comics it would be a surprise if she didn’t appear at all.
